Default new build and new builder

hi i am wanting to build a gaming rig since i am sick of buying desktops that barely cut it and require up grading after a year or less to run the new games. what i would like to know is what motherboard would be best to buy to run with a 6 core that is resonable priced and would offer the chance to upgrade to stay competitive for awhile something that can take multiple video cards with overclocking in mind since i will be experimenting with that once i have a decent set up. the set up i have would with my luck probably burn out in a day if i tried to overclock. its not so much that i want to do it to get a performance boost as much as it has to do with just seeing what i can do, thats the fun for me i have been reviewing many boards and processors and am getting a headache, even the video reviews say, "this is an awesome board" but they say that about a dozen or more boards. i use my computer for everything it is my gaming console, my stereo, my encyclopedia and my t.v so it would be helpful to build my new computer to handle anything i could throw at it and not require a completely new build every year to do so as that could get expensive i know that in the case of technology that is not always possible but i would like to save some money though for the perfect for me board i will be willing to pay a bit as long as it is worth it. thanks in advance for any help i know this is a long post but i wanted to give you my needs to get the best responses

    Hi Duff

Do you have any idea how much you want to spend on this system ? Right now the best deal around with be the new Intel Sandy Bridge 2600K or the 2500K and one of the new Asus P8P67 boards.

Duff, your going to need more than that, you have to buy a motherboard, CPU, memory, video card, hard drive, case, power supply, DVD or Blu-ray all of this adds up even if you take the cheap way out. Talk to Kipper, he may be able to sell you a complete system, or maybe Skyguy seeing as your in Canada, he should be able to build one for you.
