Default Bois 3017 For Crosshair AM3+ Not posting

I bought a FX-4100 today and can't get it to post with suggested bios from ASUS. I keep having to switch back to my 1090t witch works with this beta by the way. Does anybody have the same problem and if so any solutions?

If your running your 1090T that means a bad FX chip? Did you reset the bios?

I had a problem with 1 Crosshair V. I tightened the heat sink too tight. Loosened it and it posted. Try resting the FX chip and make sure it seats....

They didn't have a 890fx set up or a 990. When I asked two salesman looked at me like I was stupid for asking. They said we have mostly Intel stuff setup for testing............ 65% of the boards they have on the wall are amd. Everytime I'm there, somebodies buying an amd rig. WTF. So I exchanged it for a different Chip and It Still Din't work........ The Bios for the 890 does not work take warning. Unless I'm doing something wrong or I've gotten two bad ones in a row...... Sorry guys. I am going to get a CHV almost bought a sabertooth. which one is the best I wonder?

ASRock 990fx boards seemed to run better than any other with BD so far.

Thank you for contacting ASUS Customer Service.

My name is Andrew and it's my pleasure to help you with your problem.

I am afraid to say that your mortherboard can not support FX-4100 AMD CPU as it is AM3+ socket ,and you MB is AM3 socket.

Welcome to refer Troubleshooting & FAQ for ASUS products in ASUS website:
    http://support.asus.com/servicehome.aspx?SLanguage=en

If you continue to experience issues in the future, please do not hesitate to contact us.

    Best Regards,

    Andrew

    ASUS Customer Service

Do yourself a favor and buy the 990FX Fatal1ty Pro board, you can always sell your 890FX . ASRock has come a long way in the last couple of years, both their Z68 Fatality Pro Gen 3 and 990FX Fatal1ty Pro boards are really great performers

Do you have the Crosshair IV or Crosshair V? If you have the Crosshair IV, it does not support FX processors.

I have since purchased a crosshair V and had issues with this also. When installing windows all I get at the end is Windows can not complete install with current hardware. I've tried all different versions from 32 to 64 and even different files that I downloaded. I've tried disabling usb in bios to removing ram to declocking to WTF... I don't know... I'm severely disappointed with AMD right know and ASUS... Why would ASUS release a bios supporting am3+ chips and have a rep on newegg tv say that if you own a 890 it will work. URRRRRGGGG!!!!!!!!! I have tried all versions of bios in both my crosshair IV and V boards and the only one that posts is the V, but it won't complete an installation of windows 7. I'm so pissed. I guess I'll put my V and my FX-4100 on the shelf that hosts all my obsolete parts... Good Job AMD, ASUS for releasing these and ruining opinions. I've been building computers for 10 years know and have never had this many problems. All were built with AMD. Not anymore.

Although win7 should take care of everything, you may have to install the chipset or SATA drivers near the beginning of the Windows install. I would call Asus Tech support. They are there till I think 2 central on Sunday. They are located in Southern Indiana.

Crosshair III & Crosshair IV also cannot support FX-Chips. Crosshair V & Sabertooth 990FX AM3+ can support, u can try download the BIOS ver.0705 FX Chips bios. ( Lastest is 0813). u have try b4 ?
