    Default AMD 8350 is a 4.0GHz eight-core

Last week we managed to get some information about AMD’s upcoming FX 8350 and you can check it out here.

However, today we learned that AMD will push this CPU from Q3 to early Q4 2012 as now it claims that it can launch this processor in late October. AMD FX 8350 is an eight-core with 16MB cache, Vishera based 32nm core with 4.0GHz default clock and ability to jump to 4.2GHz with turbo core automatic overclocking.

This is an impressive frequency jump as the AMD FX 8150 works at 3.6GHz default and with turbo gets to 4.2GHz. The FX 8350 is supposed to replace the 8150 as AMD’s flagship processor.

According to current schedule production ready samples are expected in roughly a month (early August). Mass production starts in early August, probably days after they finalize the clocks and give it a green light for mass production but the launch is pushed for late October 2012.

Originally it was supposed to launch in Q3 2012. Just to refresh your memory, Vishera supports DDR3 1866, comes with AMD turbo core automatic overclocking, supports AMD AM3+ motherboards and is manufactured on 32nm SOI in Dresden, AMD’s old fab that now belongs to Globalfoundries.

I think it's cool too. I'm looking forward to our review of the chip. I'll probably replace my 8120 with an 8350.

Don't get your hopes up! LOL. It could have 100 cores. It will still be a dud IMO. Until they get more L3 cache AMD will still flounder.

Thought I read that the 8350 will have more L3 cache. Maybe my memory is playing tricks on me?

the performance improvements over bulldozer is said to be approximately + 15-20% doubt it will be any more competitive than what Intel is currently offering

If its the said 15-20% Inprovement over Bulldozer then it won't have much competition with what Intel has to offer.
The new Intel and even the older Sandy Bridge is performing the same if not better in most cases over the bulldozer chip. But what AMD has going for them is pricing on there chips.

However AMD is also leading in the APU set-up they have, but IMO Intel still has the lead in performance.

We will just have to wait and see what reviews are like when this chip is released.

Kenny and Bully, I think Bully was around before BD release so Kenny, pay attention to this:

Ask the guys here, I was a huge AMD fanboy and I stuck up for AMD to the bitter end. AMD PROMISED THE SAME CRAP BEFORE BULLDOZER RELEASE. The results they taunted did not even come close to what AMD released. They do this everytime and have done it even with Phenoms. AMD plane lies about all their crap and I finally had enough with them and to add icing on the cake Bulldozers pricing was even more insult to injury. My point is: if they would not have made massive false statements, I would still be supporting them. I even went to BULLDOZER Tech Day in Austin Texas and they still rattled a lot of nonsense. So that said, do not believe anything until we get a chip. If we do not get one on next release, I will be happy to buy one and review and test it.

I personally think that no matter what we think, people marketing AMD products are just like poloticians... They can say one thing, and it could be something completely different... All we can do, is wait it out, and see what happens. Personally, also speed isn't thaat huge, is it? AMD Vs. Intel is a ridiculous arms race.

Either Intel or AMD's offerings work just fine on my games. My Phenom X4-980 Black is fine with me.
It takes heavy video encoding jobs to highlight the extra speed that My i7-2600K has. But it is a heck of a lot faster than the AMD Part when I encode.

As for AMD's actions, they've had several upheavals in their top-tier management over the past year. It seems to be a lot more about the money with them since then. It's a shame too.

Hey Jimbo, I was around during before bulldozer release, that was the reason I ended up here at Pure OC. I was researching the chip and got tons of great info.
I had Originally set-up for a bulldozer release, But I listened to your advice and everyone here and held off until you reviewed it. Which is the reason I ended up with a Intel build, after your reviews it showed the 2500k performed the same if not better in most cases and it was cheaper at the time.

Thats why I said I wouldn't base the info provided above reliable . Wait it out until its released before we buy it. wait for actual reviews.

I'll reserve judgement until a full review but I'd like to see them become more competitive.

Yup. Like I said, I would support them but all the hype was lies so I have a hard time supporting AMD even for gaming.

Well like they say the proof is in the pudding hopefully they can vindicate themselves with the new release, and if not just put themselves deeper in the toilet
