    Default CPU Swap?

So I finally have a day off from work and may get around to working on my PCs today. One of the things I've been thinking about doing is swapping my 1100T out of my second rig and into my main rig because I think the chip may perform better for day to day computing and gaming than my FX 8120. What do you guys think? Also, do I have to reinstall Windows on both machines if I do the processor swap? Thanks.
    2nd Rig: AMD FX-8120; Corsair H105 ; Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3; 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 1600MHz; 2 x PowerColor HD 7870 Myst. Ed. (Tahiti LE); Fractal Design Arc XL; SeaSonic X Series 850W

Hey Sam, I know my 1090t performed better then my 8120 in benches @ 4.0ghz. But then again I haven't been able to really get my 8120 full stable with higher clocks. Allot of it has to to do with my Mobo.
It would be interesting to find out if you get better results.

I would do some benches of the 8120 at the clocks you will be using on the norm. Then swap and set the same clocks and do some benches to see in comparison.
I know Jim has a comparison chart already and if I remember I think the 1100t performed better in most task, But I could be wrong.

That's what I was thinking of doing. My 8120 overclocks well in my Crosshair V, so I'm curious to see how the 1100T will do as I've never had it in that board. I'd like to test them both at 4.4GHz.

The big question is - do I have to do a fresh install of window every time I swap out the CPUs?

If its a memory intensive application bulldozer does best the 1100t but in processor intensive applications the 1100t outperforms it. So unless you are using the computer for compiling like I do, the 1100t is probably your best bet.

Mostly gaming, benchmarking and movies is what I use the system for at the moment.
