We'll have to see what happens when the new Piledirvers come out. If they still cant compete closely with Intel, i'm going to have to make the switch. Since trying to game/stream isn't great on an AMD platform.

We should have a new chip in around the 10th, but again we canot say anything about the chip until AMD says we can, or launch day comes. I can tell you that I managed to get Asus to agree to send Kenny the new Crosshair V Formula Z for review, and we will be using this board for the AMD review also, so you can expect some pretty exciting results.

I know Kenny will do a good job, but I'm very concerned that the chip won't be able to deliver enough punch to keep me from switching to Intel. I don't expect the chip to beat the i7's, but it needs to be equal to or better than the i5. Don't think it will be but I hope I'm wrong.

Sam, you need to have at least one new Intel system so you can see what your missing, go with a Z77 board and a 2700K, which runs a hell of a lot cooler than a 3770K and overclocks better.

Might sell my 1100T and 990FX-UD3 to raise some cash for a Z77 board and 2700k. Not sure though.
Problem is Stan, I don't have $600 for a new board and CPU. That's what it will cost whether I go with a Z77 or X79 set up.

Sam, the i5s are a very good, if not fantastic series of CPUs.
I wouldn't expect these new AMD chips to surpass them, but we won't know until the cows come home.
The 2600K and 2700K CPUs are friggin' cool. You'll like the speed, I sure do.
I just realized that I had an ASRock Z68 Pr03-M motherboard laying around here, (the one that I used to use for my i7-2600K) so I just bought a dual core Pentium G870 for it tonight. ($89.99 shipped, good price) TYBTW,.......
I think I'll surprise the wife with it and give her ~another~ upgrade that she doesn't know she wants.(until she uses it for a while)
You never stop working the angles Stan,....LOL!
Thanks for keeping us updated.

Sam, talk to Jim, he should be able to give you a good deal on a Z77 board, and I believe he may still have a 3570K. If you woud rather go with X79 , I can help you with a board and matching 16GB memory kit

Lolz!! You guys are too funny, but we should be getting these in for review soon. We will be sure to complete a very detailed review on both the board and chip. We are excited about this up coming release, As I mentioned before I am really having some high hopes with this chip, But we will find out soon..
