Default AMD "Jaguar" Micro-architecture Takes the Fight to Atom with AVX, SSE4, Quad-Core

    Quote
AMD hedged its low-power CPU bets on the "Bobcat" micro-architecture for the past two years now. Intel's Atom line of low-power chips caught up in power-efficiency, CPU performance, to an extant iGPU performance, and recent models even feature out-of-order execution. AMD unveiled its next-generation "Jaguar" low-power CPU micro-architecture for APUs in the 5W - 25W TDP range, targeting everything from tablets to entry-level notebooks, and nettops.

Nice update by AMD. The ISA instruction sets are a great addition to tablets and entry level notebook. Look forward to seeing some results from the double bandwidth on multiple sections of the new apus.

It will be interesting to see what AMD can pull out of the hat with this one. The architecture looks like it will be great for the entry level items like you said. It will be interesting to see the actual performance numbers once they are out. I am waiting for a decent platform for notebook wise that can handle some decent gaming in better resolutions, I have yet to see any APU do that as of right now in notebook.
