    Default Begginer Builder Needs Help

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this i really appreciate it. I had ibuypower make me a computer and after a few months i decided i didnt like the case anymore so i bought the Coolermaster HAF XB. I transferred everything i had on the other case to the coolermaster case and now it is not starting. It turns on for about 3 seconds and then it shuts off. Sometimes you hear one been and then it shuts off and other times it gets to a screen where it sais something about the fan and but it shuts off too fast so i cant see exactly what it is saying and the error beep is i long and 4 short. I understand that one long and 2 short is the memory and 1 long and 3 short is the gpu but im not sure what the 1 long and 4 short is for. I know i proably sound retarded but i figure i would as people that know instead of just messing with it and messing it up even worse. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated

Unfortunately no. I had the computer built and sent out to afghanistan where i was working at the time. I guess i will try and contact the people to see if they have the manual or look for a digital one online!

    Yes, it's hardware failure.

First, start with the Video card, remove it and put it back and make sure it seats properly. Try to boot the system, if no luck then move on to the next component.
And if you still have no luck after you have checked all the components and still no boot then check for short in the motherboard, make sure there are not the board doesn't touch motherboard tray.

However, it's more likely the video card is not siting properly.

    Let us know the result.

double check your memory, make sure every module is securely in each slot, and like Tony said, remove and reinstall your GPU. What are you using for cooling, Air or Water. and was the cooler or cpu water block removed ? if it was, did you remember to add the right amount of TIM, and make sure you did not over tighten the mounting hardware.

If you are getting to a screen referencing a fan, it may be as simple as your CPU fan being unplugged or plugged into the incorrect port. I have run across some MBs over the years that shut down immediately if they see a CPU fan fault. Make sure that your CPU fan is starting up and that it is plugged specifically into the CPU fan header. That should only take a few seconds to check.
