Default ASUS Launches AMD FM2+ APUs Motherboards

ASUS today announced the new A88XM-A and A55BM-A/USB3 motherboards, the first from any manufacturer to support new Socket FM2+ APUs (Accelerated Processing Units) from AMD. The A88XM-A with AMD A88X chipset and A55BM-A/USB3 with A55 chipset are both Micro-ATX motherboards for existing AMD 'Richland' and 'Trinity' FM2 APUs, and are hardware-ready for upcoming AMD 'Kaveri' FM2+ APUs that support DirectX 11.1 and PCI Express 3.0 natively. ASUS is committed to supporting the latest in PC technology. The new FM2+ motherboards offer customers the very latest in motherboard design, with the added flexibility of both backward and forward compatibility with AMD APUs.

Nice!!!! I wonder if this new chipset will have better performance on the exiting Richland processors..
From what I can tell, they include some nice upgrades like the PCIe 3.0.. FINALLY!! lolz..

I guess we will have to wait and see more info.

I'd like to see a PureOC review on these boards please!

Also like to see one on the Corsair Carbide Series AIR 540 case.

Yeah Im with Neil! I want both of those.

I like the color. About time an AMD board comes out that isnt blue or red. We need more variety. Glad to see Pci 3.0 and USB Boost. I wonder if there will be apu performance improvments with the new chipset. I have a top of the line Fm2 board now and the A10-6800k to test it in. Compare them against each other.

I'm pretty sure I will be awarded a A8-6600k Richland from AMD sharing this month. Which means I'll have it mid next month. Maybe this is the board I should look into for the wife instead of the Asus Maximus Impact for her Prodigy Build.

    Nice award!
I really like AMD APUs. I've had two of them, and they were both a lot of bang for the buck.
    Both were first gen chips.

Yea, I am curious about performance.. I also have the top shelf board from MSI The FM2-A85XA-GD65 and it performed great with the A10-6800K.
Wonder if the board will boost a significant amount to make it worth while to upgrade!

Awesome JOB ASUS looking forward with the ATX version. lov AMD mobo's for their flexibility of both backward and forward compability with AMD APUs.

If I did not already have my main machine hooked to my TV, I would probably build one of these AMD APU based computers myself. (I only have one TV though.) I would be seriously tempted to build one just because but, I also love running and taking care of my 2013 Dodge Dart so the money has to be spread around. I do like the way that board looks though. Edit: L just looked closer and I have to say, having those sata ports mounted vertically instead of parallel to the board is not the best idea in my opinion. If you were to install a 2 slot graphics card, the top 2 ports may get blocked.
