Best Christmas memory is when I was about 10. My brother had just received the first new bicycle in the family. It as the first time I ever remember anything new. We always bought used; used cars, used appliances, used TV, etc. I was very excited for my brother and went to the back-door to hold it open so he could take it outside to go riding. As I entered the hallway near the door I found another new bicycle with my name on it, a Schwinn. I was shocked. Two new things, I couldn't believe it. It's the first-time I every remember crying because I was happy. I kept that bicycle in great condition; so good someone stole it 10 years later when it was chained to a bicycle rack while I was in college.

My most memorable Christmas was our second year of marriage and the first Christmas with our new daughter born on December 3rd. We had the three of us in our new apartment and it was a great first Christmas for all.

Thanks for a great contest and some really great prizes.

Christmas this year is going to be a bit of a dud for us. You see we spent any and all money that we normally would for Christmas taking the Family away on a vacation last month to Cuba.

There will not be alot of screams of delight from the girls as there just will not be the gifts under the tree that have been there other years. I can live with that and hope my wife and the girls can?

About 5-6 years ago I got a PM on another forum from a guy named Campman who was worried that a post he had made on another forum may have offended people. I assured him that his post was fine and that he was honest in his post and that is what mattered. I remember thinking that Campman was a genuinely good person and have remembered that to this day.

I will always remember this holliday season due to Kippers earlier post about his time in Germany. That post is the story of what real men are made of and it brought a tear to my eye. Kipper if you ever run into Campman say hi for me and be sure to say hi to Mrs. Claus.

P.s. I am not entering the contest just felt compelled to post.

My best christmas was 2 years ago when i adopted a family for christmas. Had the family over for christmas dinner and gave the three kids and the mom presents. the look on their faces was priceless i still keep in touch with them and now they are doing better. But to help someone out was the best feeling ever.

    Hi Joel,

Campman says hi back at ya. LOL

I did not enter the contest with that post.

The theme that Jake requested just brought my Christmas experience back like it was yesterday. I just wanted to share my memory with all of you.

I wish everyone who enters the best of luck and a Merry Christmas to all.

On Christmas Eve when i was 7 I came home from my grandparents where we had dinner and opened some presents. As I left the car with my younger brother Brian who was 2 1/2 at the time along came Santa walking down the street pulling a large sack. the snow covering the ground and a full moon made the street very bright at that time. I asked Santa where was his sleigh and reindeer. He replied that he had left it on the next street while he delivered his presents.

My best Christmas memory was a few years ago... :S Ok many years ago.. I was about 9 years old when my younger brother and I snuck out of our bunk beds at about 3 in the morning on Christmas day to see what Santa brought us. The tree was tricked out, and little presents spread around the tree and silver garland hanging from the ceiling and tree. There were stockings filled with that exellent Christmas candy plus candy canes and chocolate Santa's and all.. We we glanced into the Kitchen area and what did we see, no it wasn't Santa it was two brand new 20" bicycles! We of course jumped on the one we thought was ours and were really excited. After many minutes of enjoying the moment we were smart enough to know we needed to get to sleep so we could get the night over and get to our new bicyles and take em to the streets. Well once the morning came we were given our bicycles and found that we had picked the wrong ones, mine was actually the one my brother had taken which of course was no issue. I had that bicyle for years, I was still riding it when I bought my first car at 16 years old.
    Merry Christmas!

Favorite Christmas memory? 2004! I got my first guitar which i immediately began slave over day in and day out. Years later playing the instrument has had a profound impact on my life and helped mold me. But more importantly it has introduced me to some of the most fascinating people i know and now i am lucky enough to call them my friends. All because Christmas 2004 Awwwww how cute.

My best holiday memory would probably be getting enough money to let me upgrade to a new system at the PERFECT time right after my previous systems video card died and it was running AGP.

    Default Christmas memory

I have fond memories of receiving a pair of walkie talkies for Christmas one year. My uncle, who was in another part of the house, grabbed the other radio pretending to be Santa talking to me. Being about 8 years old, I was convinced I was talking to the big man himself. I thought I was the luckiest kid in the world that Christmas!

My best holiday memory was seeing my mother for the first time since I was 12.

I had called my sister on her birthday (Dec 5th) to wish her the best and to let her know her gift was on the way. She informed me that she was talking to our mother. I had mixed feeling at the time. I had not heard from her in over 15 years. After some convincing from my sister I talked to her......cleared the air on some personal issues. She flew out to us to meet my wife and 2 kids. I had butterflies in my stomach, not knowing how I would react to seeing her in so long. My wife and children by my side was comforting. I felt so sheepish and embarrassed holding up a sign with her name on it (simply because I did not remember what she looked like) and hoping she would recognize me instead of the sign. I actually noticed her....surprised she almost looked the same, quickly hid the sign, called her name. After a long hug and tears introduction to the family we went home.

I got my mother back in my life, My wife got a new mother (in law lol) and the kids a grandmother. I could not have wished for a better Christmas.

    Happy Holidays to Everyone

My favorite Christmas memory would have to be from two years ago.

Earlier in the year my uncle had been diagnosed with leukemia for the second time in his life. The doctor referred him to a specialist in Vancouver in which my brother and his wife reside. Upon hearing the news my brother and sister-in-law immediately offered to have my aunt and uncle stay at their downtown Vancouver apartment. In particular my brother offered to be a personal care-taker to my uncle. An up-beat, dark humored fellow my uncle knew things were looking grim. He often cracked jokes about his “plans from beyond the grave,” his diagnosis, prognosis, and the doctor saying "lucky if ya see Christmas".

It’s December 24th now and my mom, dad, brother, sister, sister-in-law, and I have gone to sing carols at the local assisted living community. We met up with my aunt and grandma in the main activity room and all took a seat in front of the grand piano. The performer of the night; my uncle. The ill, up-beat, dark humored pianist. He played, we sang, everyone enjoyed the festive holiday chorus. I will never forget that night my uncle played the piano.

After-wards we made jokes about my uncle "seeing the New Years" and by golly he did! I think on Jan 1st (after seeing his goal) he phoned the specialist and told him where to shove his prognosis. He died a week later.
