Thanks everyone and thank you very much to PUREOC for a great contest.

I can't wait to get this thing installed and try it out.

Oh yes I have been sitting here thinking about maybe cutting out the side panel and replacing it with a piece of plexiglass and then moving the large fan forward on the panel. I know I can do a lot more when talking cable management!

Thanks to the folks at CoolIt and Evercool for the wonderful prizes!

Your Welcome! Send us some temp screenshots, when our reviewer Dan did the Domino review, had his Q 9550 at 4GHz and reported temps of 34c idle & 47c underload. Your case is larger and has better air flow, so you might see a 2c difference in temps on high setting.

    Update:

Well I have the Domino CoolIt installed and system running. A little history first. The Domino was shipped to me and i recieved it about 2 weeks after the contest ended which i would call great time! I was all excited and opened the box and looked at the documentation and got ready to instal.

The unit itself came in a very eye catching box with pictures of the unit showing the LCD display and the name DOMINO prominently displayed. It would certainly catch the eye of any enthusiast at the local computer store.

I read the instructions, ya I know a man reading instructions (Lets not go there) and they were pretty straight forward explaining what had to be done depending upon which socket it was going to be used for. I have the Q9550 LGA 775 and the unit came setup for that configuration so no adjustments had to be made.

I installed the unit which was very easy to do. Simply attach the backplate to the backside of the motherboard and then remove protective cover over the waterblock which comes covered in a Coolit propretary paste. And then with the use of a Philips screwdriver attach the 4 screws on the waterblock plate to the backing plate.

If your case does not have a CPU backplate acces whole you would have to remove your motherboard first to install the backplate. I had thought about this in advance and had removed everything from my case a few days prior to receiving the unit and I cut a whole in the motherboard panel of my case with a dremel tool so i would be ready to go. While I was at it I also cut a whole about the same size in the case cover on the motherboard side of the case. I had an old alarm box which just happened to fit an 80 mm fan perfectly so i installed it and fastened it to the outside of the panel to blow cool air on the backside of the motherboard just for kicks and in hopes that it would help cool the inside of my case. maybe helped about a degree or 2.

Okay after installing the waterblock you simply lineup the fan with the backside of the case and insert the 4 rubber mounts which are attached to the back of the fan through the corresponding 120 mm fan mounting wholes. The unit also comes with screws should you prefer to mount the unit that way.

Ok the moment of truth. I pushed the power button on the computer and a horrible racket was all I heard. I immediately shutdown as quickly as I could and looked to see what was wrong. It appeared that the unit had a defective fan. It was not seated corrctly and was being sucked into the radiator. Well i was really disapointed and upset that I was not going to be able to test the unit. I started thinking about what to do, should try to replace the fan unit and was there damage to the rad?

I mentioned it in an earlier post here and smduff posted a youtube video of a guy who replaced the fan on his domino unit thinking it may help. (Thanks Steve)

I contacted Dr._Death and told him of the situation with the damage and he said to let him see what could be done. I did not want to cause any problems with the relationship between coolit and PUREOC and did not want to discourage members here from the product or the contests here on PUREOC.

Well to my surprise Dr._ Death contacted me the very next morning stating a new unit would be shipped to me but it may take a few weeks. I recieved the new unit on thursday morning just passed. it came by courier and took no longer than a week from me first contacting DR._Death. NICE!!!

I installed the unit yesterday evening in about 6 minutes which includes opening the box and removing from the packaging. By the way the unit comes in a nice 2 piece plastic package where everything fits perfectly in its place so things will not be damaged in transport.

I fired the computer up and everything is running flawlessly!!! I am sitting at about 31 degrees celsius at idle with a mld 11 % overclock @ 3.14 GHz. This morning I ran one test with intel burn at the maximum stress level and the system passed!!!

I would personally like to thank PUREOC for the contest and for winning! And for definately stepping up to the plate and resolving this situation in the absolute best way possible and in a very professional manner!!!

Dr._Death and his advertising contact Matt are to be congratulated on absolutely fantastic customer service and just for being decent guys.

    Thanks!

P.S. I am now ready to learn how to properly overclock and hope that some of the brilliant minds here can point me in the right direction with hints and tricks in the Q9550 overclocking thread.
