YAYy, mayb amd can use this money to develop a proc to finally compete with the core i7s and future core i9s. Though, most likely it will somehow vanish, and we'll see no change, lol

I can't believe they settled - that $1.25 billion should be a nice injection of cash for AMD. I hope they use it well.

If it was cash only AMD probably should of gotten over $5B. In the deal is cross license, the ability for GF to break from AMD and AMD to still have their x86 license/a fabless AMD with ability to go anywhere to get chips, Intel will have to abide by some rules setup by Intel and AMD, and probably some other stuff that is hiding in the agreement.

All I can say is its about time! I've been wondering for quite a while now if there was going to ever be an end to all of this.

Yeah the truth finally came out, but the $1.25 billion did not hurt Intel at all, it was all of the news articles that did the real damage.
