If you're like me in that you have very finicky taste in sound, but can't afford to shell out $1000+ in a home theatre system, these are great. I bought 'em for the same price a while back and paired them with the sony 270w stereo reciever from wal-mart and they sound amazing. You can hear tiny details in every sound, from movies to music, and the base is strong without being muddy like many subwoofers can be. I've seen complaints about base but I think it must be reciever problems because I've been very pleased.

Keep in mind if you want run a dvd player through these to check your sound settings. The stereo setup doesn't handle dolby digital surround well, so you'll want to "dumb down" the audio signal coming from a dvd player so that they sound like they should. Usually just 2-3 settings in the setup menu.

These are great for small stereos! Although I will stick with my amazing surround setup! XD
