    Default PayPal Problems

I had considered setting up a PayPal account to sell things online and found myself studying on how things work in the process then I found myself linked to U-Tube with an unbeleivable amount of Fraud and theft complaints against PayPal not only by individual customers but the Dept of Justice News agencies you name it! I spent a while reading and reading complaints of very common fraud practices and bull**** scams that at this my common sence when it comes to using the service for selling items if not anything else, tells me not to use the service! There just seems to be too much eveidence for me to give them access to what little money I have for them to walk away with it! When you have upward to 2 million customers with a class action lawsuit thats a pretty good reason to turn me away from using it! Just my opionion! Here is just one single news link but you can spend a lot of time like I did this morning reading and finding many more!
Truth about PayPal and eBay - News Report
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4vYh9c1y3sc

I would like to post things for sale but find another way of receiving payments ! I know some of you use PayPal and if you have had good luck with them and no problems thats Great! I wouldnt want to see anyone here get taken by PayPal or anyone else! LOL How bout this my first "Rant" in a forum!

I expect there is a lot of people that have had good service from PayPal and I know some people that use it and havent heard any complaints which thats a good thing but the more i read the more certain practices they use like freezing peoples accounts up with what ever funds they have in their account for months at a time with holding their funds with no possible way to get to their cash and no good valid reason why! Eitherway Im not capable to do battle with such a huge company to get what belongs to me in the first place and if they held my funds for any period of time as financially challenged as I am it would be a disaster the reason being I need the money for several differant reasons or I wouldnt have considered using them in the first place! But their is just too many complaints for me to be comfortable with them! And if the Justice Dept is involved somebodys doing something! Anyway good luck to all you anyway!

Paypal will protect you as long as you follow their guidelines and don't violate any of the protection terms with sending money.

    Its pretty straight forward IMO.
Amazon payments also works, but doesn't protect you against scammer's like Paypal does.
I was recently Scammed on a set of video cards from a FB seller, however since I had all the emails between seller and I and also FB messages, All I had to do was provide paypal the evidence that I purchased something that was suppose to ship to me I was able to get my full refund from paypal. This is buyer protection from paypal itself. I followed policy and that's the outcome.

But as a user now for 15 years, I have to say, its been pretty safe.

    Default Re: PayPal Problems

Ive read many stories in re: PayPal practices and of course there not all negative but I guess my problem is the ability for them to lock up your account if "THEY" deem something seems suspicous, also them having access to my bank account info and the ability to access it also would be a major concern! And then you have the scammers that are out there that try to reverse the charges and pull their money back out while the item your selling is actually in transit! I dont know what kind of restrictions PayPal has in place to keep that from happening , and the only way I know to keep that from happening is ship the item after and only after you collect your funds from from your PayPal account and deposit them in your bank account! But if they have the capacity to seize your funds or lock your acct down while they are doing a so called investigation at a Whim!! The last thing I want them to have access to is my bank account! LOL I dont even trust the bank with my money but what the heck you got to put it somewhere! I know PayPal is widely used and since Ive never used there service before I cant actually say anything negative against them maybe its just me and not knowing how the service works makes me a little apprehensive especially when big companies are being hacked on a regualar basis and account info stolen more often! Ill figure out something I appreciate you guys responding!

that's true BUT I sold an item going to india and after 1 month the package didnt arrive and showing it left the US for 3 1/2 wks and no further info...the cust asked for a refund per their buyer protection...i had no problem with him wanting a refund on it and i would to BUT they held my money up for other sold stuff and paid him with my remaining balance....Zlike i said the refund was not the problem but it was NOT my fault and I lost the original price i paid for the device and the sale amt came to 550.00USD total./....mighty bitter pill to swallow and was told until i can show it as being delivered i will NOT recoup any amount....Screw them as being a seller...sellers have NO protection in my case...

Your protection should have came from you Insuring the item when you shipped it. If it was lost you would have got your money.

cust request to ship as cheap as possible and i was told by PO after the fact that even if i had insured it since it was considered an international letter it would not have been covered...although i can say that selling in US no issues so far..i just hate the 1st hit from paypal and then ebay 10% incl shipping fees..dont think the shipping should be incl with them..i have a cpl of items waiting payment(open cases) and when they are settled im dont with paypal....ebay probably as well unless buying something I cant find anywhere else..TC

    Default Re: PayPal Problems

I'm a fence rider with both eBay and PayPal. PayPal has thus far been very good to and for me, but eBay, yeah I hate them. I use them because it's my only real option these days, since I sell a large variety of items and posting on several different sites and forums got to be extremely time consuming after a while. There are many reasons that eBay loses customers every day, and in a way I'm glad PayPal is finally separating to be on their own. Truth be told, however, a class-action suit needs brought against both companies for scamming people all of these years. They've always maintained that PayPal and eBay both charge you because they're separate companies, but in 2014 they announced that PayPal was finally going to split off from eBay and become it's own company for the first time ever. That alone is enough for a suit, honestly. Think about how many billions+ dollars, pounds, etc. they've taken from us users and shouldn't have been able to. That's eBay's greed for you. PayPal's much different since they started the split, but before it was insane what they were doing.

That being said, I used to have lots of frustration with PayPal, but since their announcement in 2014 (about the split), things have improved a lot. I've experienced nothing short of stellar service lately. The online work that I do, I get paid via PayPal for it (it's not a lot of work, but it's more than nothing, and it helps a lot). If I didn't have a PayPal account, my family and I'd be homeless right now.

That is another reason I do NOT ship international on ANYTHING I sell unless It's someone I know, You never know what might happen that may be neither parties fault.
If you plan on shipping to US shipping, paypal has got you covered. Also, if you have tracking and the USPS, Fed Ex or UPS can't not locate the package, you can file a claim for lost package.

I've done it in the past and never run into problems. But that is not part of Paypals concern at that time, its now the shipping service you used.
