    Ah, if only I already had my tax money in hand. I'll very soon be in need of 4 sticks of 4gb ram. Be kind of a shame to split up a foursome, though.

    *Edit: Nevermind. Just remembered the board I'm getting only supports up to 1600 anyway. Oh well.

    You can still use these. They will clock down to the board max if that is truly the case. Z87, Z97,990FX 970 ect can handle higher than 1600Mhz. 1600 is just the native speed for DDR3. B85, H85, and the like based boards are locked at 1600Mhz by Intel.
