Default New Build "Watercooling again ?"

Hi guys i have used this forum for a while now with alot of great and helpful members 1 of the only forums which remains useful out of all the others

Anyways down to point im selling my current pc

    http://sydney.gumtree.com.au/c-Stuff...AdIdZ265462727

Hopefully ill get something close to that price i have had a few people interested

Im torn i think that the lian li pc80b case is amazing it has done everything i needed to with air with good temps is it worth getting another one of these or is there a better case out there now ?

Graphics card wise i will try to hold out for the gtx 590 or 595 which ever it is i understand that watercooling the cards is still a good way to go

CPU wise im obviously looking at the sandy bridge 2600k i read somewhere that if the temps are to low it downclocks the pc ? does this mean that watercooling a cpu is useless now could i get abit more info

Watercooling i had a extremely bad experience from my armor suit pc first time i used watercooling after 1 month 1 of the hoses cracked and dripped all over my 3 ati 3870's and ruined all 3 warranty didnt cover it

I steered clear of watercooling since that day few questions how expensive is it to say watercool a cpu and gpu and have the option of adding a 2nd gpu and being able to wc further on down the track i want quality products

Other question is do you think i would be better of with air i dont bench i dont oc for scores i simply play games and oc to try to get some more fps in my games do you think its wise to just stick to air ?

After some of these questions are answerred and i get some info ill continue on with my build

Indeeds 2600K runs pretty cool, it's possible to get it to 5Ghz with air cooler. However, if you're planning to have multiple graphics card then the hot air generate from these GPUs will affect the CPU cooling.

Watercooling is now doesn't help to get SB to OC any higher like the olden days due to the chip multiplier wall but it's now to keep your chip cool more efficient and quietness. It's true SB doesn't like cold but you were talking about L2N, extreme cooling. Watercooling is not the case here.

I'm not going to like watercooling mishaps do happen but we gotta to be careful. I've killed at least 3 PSUs from coolant accidental. But I usually spray silicone water replenent on the back of graphics card and mobo.

Ok so im going to start ordering parts for my new build i have few questions if you see anything i may improve on different parts case etc please mention what would be a better part and why

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Case : Lian Li PC-P80B (my current case) this is case i want to use for my next build i love the design the air flow its perfect for me

Question will this case fit the new sandy bridge motherboards ? if so could you explain to me how i check im seeing all this ATX and small ATX and i dont completely understand

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    CPU : 2600k

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Video card : GTX 590 or GTX 580 x 2 sli ? and possible Ocing further down the track

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PSU : What kind of power am i looking at if i was to run a 580 sli ? 1500w be plenty or ? good suggestion for solid psu ?

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ram : 6gb im under the assumption unless u video or photo edit at high resolutions you wont use anywhere close to 6gb ? is it better to buy 6gb of high quality ram or 12gb of lower quality ram
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Motherboard : Still not sure ?? i was looking at some of the Asus boards but im still browsing any good suggestions or is it to early to take a pick ?

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sound card : i was using a creative xi fi gaming card but im thinking about investing into abit higher quality if it actually makes a difference any good 1's that stand out from the pack ?

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CPU Cooler : Still looking at this does the 2600k even need a cooler other than stock im looking at using airflow again ?

    Vinnie,

If you need the best air cooler I got it. PM me. If you are interested in my cooler get Corsair Dominator. The heatspreaders just make it under the sink.

H70 is better and even better in push/pull configuration(2 fans). The D-14 is no slouch. It is one of the premier air coolers.

With the 2600k being so cool already even with max loads do you think its possible to get 5ghz stable with the h70 cooler ?

Also what im asking is which setup do you think i should go with

Setup 1 : H70 / Air cooling for cards and case
Setup 2 : A Complete Water cooling system to cool cpu,gtx580 and possibly another 580 down the track ?

With setup 2 how complicated is setting up a loop going to be and how expensive if i want to buy quality parts also the maintenance i dont want to have to be cleaning it or having any cracked tubing like i had 1's with a thermaltake case that came with water cooling the tube cracked and ruined 2 video cards

I looked at Detons maintenance guide if i only need to clean it every year or so im happy to do so could you give me some advice on a good watercooling setupt for the lian li pc-p80b case ?

    Edit

Also looking at this fan controller any had some experience with it ? http://www.lamptron.com/products/vie...ntroller_FC5V2
