    @grumpydaddy
    Thanks, When I cut a hole I use a Bimetal hole saw, masking tape is always used, everything else, A dremel is used with a cut off wheel, still using masking tape,I dont like to use u-channel because it looks like it's been modded, what I do is cut, sand & wet sand intill it looks lazer cut, then primer & paint. another way would be to cut inside the line, then clamp down a stright edge & file the rest away intill you right up to the edge. it take time but looks great .

    So, just masking tape? Do you pre-drill the pilot? and perhaps more important how do you decide what speed to use? I've just got a dremel for Christmas and have been trying a few things but the metal I've been cutting is perhaps too thick (eats disks).

    I'm not ready yet but could you do me a guide for finishing the edge of that typical non-smooth sort of orange peel effect found on some cases. (I've thought of sandwiching between plywood?)

    In fact if you would like to do any case modding guide, we here at PureOC could sure do with some tips from someone like yourself

    A butcher would probably cut straighter and more regular...my squares seem to have 4 different length sides.

    The purpose of the masking tape is to protect the case surface or you can draw the cut out shape right on it.

    Speed is depends on type of materials and thickness.
    Yeah you should stock up the cutting disc if you are planning to use it for cutting. They gone very quick.

    Default Mountain Mods

    This is the case I would like to get for my core i7 965 build, so I can have enough to install the custom Boreas I had built. Check out the attachment, only problem is it's $439, and does not come with any of the 11 / 120 mm fans. The way I see it, it be the last case i would ever have to buy. It's 24" tall and 18" square so there is a lot of room.

    Holy fundge pants batman!!! That would be a nice case Doc D. Do you dislike the TJ-07 case? I'm sure you know Coolit sells a version with the boreas pre-installed. I don't like those rounded edges, so I wouldn't blame you if you passed. There must be cheaper cases that would fit the boreas if the TJ-07 will. Are you just not into doing the mods to get the air flow-through?

    Rosco, check out my photo album on here, I had the original Boreas TJ-07 build when they first came out. They have to remove all but three 5.25" bays and I need at least 4. Besides, I kinda fell in love with the Mountain Mods case, but now that I have two Boreas units I need two cases.

    With the 2nd unit that will arrive Feb 3rd, I asked them to extend the tubing on the pump, so I could remove it from the Boreas and mount it inside the case. This should allow me to mount one Boreas diff way.

    Or, inside that case, you could run them in parallel and have cooling close to dry ice. I sent you the link previously showing how 3 elites can reach sub-zero temps, I can only imagine how 2 Boreas' would do.
