Link doesn't work. It made me sign in to Newegg only to tell me that the list is empty.

Uh, that's... better? LOL from what I gleaned of that, I have the following opinions:

    1. same him some money and step back to the 4670K. There is literally no difference in gaming scores between it and the 4770 and costs way less. Until something like low level API's like Mantle become more common to allow better leveraging of multiple CPU cores, it's just overkill for gaming.

    2. The brand of that motherboard is questionable, as I haven't really seen much of anything from them. Boards from other better known manufacturers that will retain the same kind of look are the MSI gaming GD65 and the Gigabyte UP4, both great boards and exceptional values.

    3. RAM doesn't necessarily need to be that fast for gaming. Any benchmarks that I have run with memory overclocking in play don't ever affect anything that is noticeable to the human eye. Cut back to a good kit of 1600 MHz RAM of the same density and shave some dollars there.

    4. I imagine the massive PSU is for forward thinking and future expansion of the system? If not then that might be a bit on the overkill side as well x-).

    5. I noticed that there isn't anything in the way of aftermarket cooling; I'm guessing that is because with a chassis like this the expressed intent is to either water cool the balls out of the hardware or to house ALL of the hard drives. If not then that CPU is gonna want something like an H100i or a Noctua NH-U14 at the very least.

    6. I'm not too sure how well a slim drive will fit in the optical drive bays. Those are usually designed for systems that specifically have allocations for that kind of optical drive solution.

    7. Why the two different size platter drives? Guessing that's user specific.

It's definitely a good start, but keep in mind what I said. Not saying you NEED to do these things or you are a terrible person, just my two cents on the matter x-).

Jim both the H110 and the X60 are better AIO coolers, also skip the 900D and go with the new 750D, with the hardware your installing the 900 will look half empty, stay away from Rosewill PSUs, and why not install two GTX760s with SLI Enabled ? also skip the two platter drives and just go with a single 4TB drive and a 240 or 256GB SSD. I'd also go with the MSI G45 or G65 Z87 gaming motherboard, both will match the MSI GTX760 Gaming GPU

Also didn't see an order for his OS, you need to go with either Win 7 Pro or Ultimate 64bit

Jim, talk him into changing the PSU, if he wants a high wattage PSU, go with the Corsair AX1200i . for over $2000 you shouldn't be using a ECS motherboard, and the Rosewill PSU. How's he going to go to water cooling at a later date, he can't even build his own computer, and picking out crap for parts . If he's going to have some one build it, he needs to do it right, and might as well go with custom water now, rather than having to move the build to have someone do it later.
