Post LIAN LI Prototype - Desk Chassis: DK01

Happy New Year everyone. We have a very special project planned for 2014, and we would love to hear your thoughts.

Since desks and PCs have always had a symbiotic relationship, we decided it would only make sense to combine the two – in our new desk chassis prototype: DK01.

Constructed mostly out of aluminum, our newest prototype is unlike anything we have designed before, yet includes many of our familiar high-end features, including a brushed aluminum finish, modular HDD bays, tool-less mounting, and a minimalistic design.

The LEDs, glass cover and monitor mount are planned to be included.

Check out the pics and specs below and let us know what you like and dislike, as well as reasonable changes you would make, so that we can provide the best desk chassis possible.....

I like the way it slides out like a Kitchen draw, and how the glass lifts off for cleaning its basically a large case on its side with legs

add some hidden storage on the left and right, so longer and wider would be better

Looks ugly, I am sure we will see something else from you who know soon most likely.

I probably would put a price figure of 600$ to 800$ on this from Lian Li based on them rushing into this trying to compete as well as the materials used.

Clever move. Nowadays the number of scratch Desktop-PCs that are popping around the web is increasing drastically. AFAIK, the only off-the-shelves PC Desktop-case currently available is the Red Harbringer case, but that's a luxury item with a price tag of almost $2000. This desk from Lian Li might not be as pretty, but if it is priced competitively it could be a success.

i like the box if it's a little bit longer, but i don't like the feet.....it's reminds me of D-Frame which i like D-Frame
in my opinion i think Lian Li should make another design for the feet..

If it was about 2 feet wider it would be fine. But it looks like a school desk. I know, I sit at them all day honestly, those bars should be square tube instead of round. Would give it a better look. Brushed black square tubing.... ohhhhhhh

LOL as per usual, Lian-Li is gay for HDD space... we must fit ALL of the hard drives into ALL of our cases, and once the cages are removed... you STILL can't do much with the space x-D. That little niggle aside, it stands to be a decent PC desk if they can manage to take care of that desktop thickness. If I were to sit in front of that thing it looks like my seating position, and therefore the rest of my posture and hand positioning would be all kinds of wrong. True that's hard to avoid to be able to fit everything it needs to fit, but it does pose a potential issue.
