    Default Favorite Cases?

So, where do your tastes lay? What's your example of a case done right? Deceased, newly released, upcoming, whatever; what do you like?

I love aluminum. But there are some steel cases I dig as well. Not a big fan of colors other than black or silver though. Some of my favorites include:

    - NZXT Rogue, Blackline, mATX
    - NZXT Khaos
    - Cooler Master Wavemaster, black
    - Silverstone Fortress FT02, black
    - Silverstone TJ05, black
    - Lian Li PC-Q08, black, ITX
    - Fractal Design Array R2, black, ITX
    - Fractal Design Define XL, black (unreleased, serious WaCo potential, ETA October '10)
    - Cougar 98R9, silver/black (10 PCI slots, means with an ATX mobo, plenty of rad space on the floor)
    - Cougar 6XM1 (great front, Ultra also has this design)
    - Akasa Omega / Ultra m998, black. (I'm torn here. It's the same case, basically, but, Ultra has the Powerbar, while Akasa has a MUCH nicer aluminum door.)
    - Sigma Blitz, black. (Horrible window, horrible internals, but damn I love that front door. Almost bought one as an enclosure to hold my Mo-Ras. Sigma is dead though.)
    - Chenbro PC 61566, black
    - Chieftech JS-1500, black. (A cube done right... except that it's not aluminum, and you have to replace the entire front bay assembly. It's a server case lol)
    - MountainMods Pinnacle 24, Gun Metal (Reversible mobo orientation, quad in the roof, triple up front. Nice.)

    So, what about ya'll?

I prefer a full tower to start, I currently have the TT Shark leaves plenty of room to work, but would love to switch it out down the road with something newer and better maybe on my next build when ever that is!

For pure design, Silverstone and Lian Li. Pick just about any one, love em all.

For functional, daily use like a gaming rig, keeping things cool, I love Cooler Master. Sniper, HAF-X, ACTS 840.

For a combination of the two, I do like the Corsair 800D as well.

For budget, I love Lancool K50/K60 series and the Cooler Master 690 II.

For outrageous, I'll take Voodoo any day of the week and twice on Sunday. But the original Voodoo, before my fellow Canuck Rahul sold out to HP and their designs became shadows of their former selves. Good business move, bad enthusiast custom results though. The original Voodoo Omen designs were enthusiast wet dreams, now what they offer is are just barely half a step up from Alienware (Dell/Alienware vs HP/Voodoo......figures). Le sigh. Voodoo > all before they sold out. If you check their website and read their "history", it very carefully avoids mention of selling out to HP, they spin Voodoo almost as an HP product lineup of "extreme" systems. Hah. HP is working hard to avoid giving the impression that Voodoo is under the corporate HP umbrella. But Rahul is an HP Vice-President now so he did well for a Canuck in the big business machine south of the border. Shame they lost their whole identity in the process. No machine will ever come close to an original Omen Voodoo in my opinion. Such a shame. Oh well.......in any case (no pun intended), I digress.

And for benching, sub-zero runs, and hardware testing.......a sheet of neoprene on a motherboard cardboard box. You know it biatches!!

So to find a pic of the pre-sell out you would google voodoo wet dreams?

I read your post last night before work, and before the edit. I had never heard of the Voodoo case, so I went looking. All I found were some abysmal laptops. I did read the company history, and saw the name "Omen" pop up. Googled that, was impressed, then shook my head; sad to see a company with such potential die in flames.

Oh yeah. White neoprene foam for the win. I keep a sheet neatly tucked away beside me for just that purpose.

Oh yeah. White neoprene foam for the win. I keep a sheet neatly tucked away beside me for just that purpose.

Voodoo PC was more ridiculously overpriced than Alienware, but they DID look a lot better, imo. Voodoo got ate up by HP and dissolved.

Ask and ye shall receive.......behold the Voodoo Omen. This pic is a case about 4 years old, and look how well it still stands the test of time. Gorgeous. 2 versions, by the way.

Those two latter images look like renders. Something weird with the light and shadows.

But uh, let me see here... they made a custom enthusiast case, and didn't paint the steel internals?
