Sony held its streaming worldwide press conference to announce their new console- the Playstation 4! We don't know what it looks like yet, but we do know about the Dual Shock 4 controllers, the Playstation Eye, how Gaikai cloud gaming will change the experience (or how it could), and a taste of what's to expect with games and technical ability.
My favorite thing showed off in the entire presentation was the Quantic Dream tech demo, which showed off a high level of detail in a mock-up of an old man's face. Jesus Godoy also watched the PS4 announcement with me and says he liked Killzone: Shadow Fall the most, though we can both agree that it doesn't look like anything the PS3 couldn't produce, at least for the time being.
Gaikai's cloud gaming could also be a gamechanger- that is, if they're able to actually deliver on the promise of making every Playstation game available, and not for a prohibitively expensive price, though, it's still incredible that anyone could "try for free" before buying.
So, what do you think? Did Sony deliver enough to sway you (fast load times, more creative promise, "Share" functionality, for example), or are you still not sold on it? After all, we still don't even know what PS4 looks like or what it will cost to buy and play. Some people will always be PC gamers, others will always stick with Xbox or Nintendo-- would you ever leave your gaming device of choice for a sexy new PS4?
Jesus and I discuss our thoughts on the announcement.
