Default Anandtech XBOX One Vs. PS4 Hardware Comparison

    http://www.anandtech...playstation-4/2

There’s no escaping the fact that Microsoft has given the Xbox One less GPU hardware than Sony gave the PlayStation 4.

Sony gave the PS4 50% more raw shader performance, plain and simple (768 SPs @ 800MHz vs. 1152 SPs & 800MHz). We’ll have to wait and see how this hardware delta gets exposed in games over time, but the gap is definitely there.

According to their data, there’s roughly 50GB/s of bandwidth in each direction to the SoC’s embedded SRAM (102GB/s total bandwidth). The combination of the two plus the CPU-GPU connection at 30GB/s is how Microsoft arrives at its 200GB/s bandwidth figure, although in reality that’s not how any of this works.

Well facts are facts, I am going to purchase the xbox one though because im intrigued by the new features. No reason to buy a console purely for a couple extra shader pixels

Like what? I am honestly interested because as far as I am concerned they might as well have called this the Xbox POS. It feels like a console for people who don't play games on them.

I really want a different perspective so I can get it. So far I have only gotten "I have a 360 now, so..." and "xbox is best box" responses. Nothing with any substantial merit. Of course you do not need to justify your purchase with me. Just wondering, because I am really swaying towards PS4ever (lolollol).

most people that had 360 most likely will go for the xbox one. Most people with ps3 will mostly likely go for ps4. to me there isnt really any side view. its just what the fanboys prefer when it comes to consoles in my opinion. me being a 360 user naturally id go for xbox one. dont really care about specs to be honest.

I guess it's perspective, because all of this is crap to me.
    Bingo!

When it comes to any console, and I mean any console, and it even applies to PC's as well... its all perspective, each individual person will have there own needs for each device they are using.
Why do you think the PC modding group is a niche group. While one product will be the best the one person it may be total crap to another.

The reason consoles are the way they are is the fact that the manufactures are trying to meet the demands of the general public. They aren't here to cater to the specific groups that are looking for the best of the best. If they did that, they would lose allot of money. Console are meant to be what they are.. CONSOLES, a multitasking unit to can suffice every individual needs as a whole.

The reason why PC gaming has been around for so long is that they have "Us", the niche group that always likes to have the latest and greatest.
The upgrade ability along with constant changes that evolve around the enthusiast world.

While I think both the PS4 and Xbox ONE is going to have pro and cons, if you consider the median, they did a great job at it and with a fantastic price. But that's also not where the manufactures make their money, they rely on the "add ons" and accessories that will come with it.

That is my opinion on the whole console war. I have both Xbox and Ps3 now, while I don't plan on picking any one of these up. They seem to hit the market well with the avg. user.

Default Re: Anandtech XBOX One Vs. PS4 Hardware Comparison

I consider myself a console gamer. The thing is, that is what I want my console for, gaming and that is still their core group. Sure, they have a lot just to use as netflix and/or bluray, but they do not make much money off those users, outside of allowing them to boost a larger user base for marketing numbers.
