So Microsoft making sure no matter what you have controller support into the future is a bad thing? This is grasping at straws and finding anything to nag about. Oh stupid Microsoft making last minute changes at add extra memory and upclock GPU! So stupid! lol

No but the future you speak of doesn't exist, the PS3 has always had support for 7 controllers but no games support 7 players even now.

You are not looking it the Xbox one or the Ps3 correctly. You are only thinking of the controllers you hold in your hand. There are features that are registered by the system as a controller. If you use the "Move" controller it counts as 1. So if you have 2 controllers then 2 people use the move it will count as 4 controllers in use. the DVD remote another 1. That Eye camera? Thats another 1. that is 6 Bluetooth devices registered already. You can only add one more feature or device at this point.

Same thing with XboxOne. Do you know if the Kinect counts as a controller to the system? That is video, Infrared motion controller and Voice in one device. It could read as 3 by itself. What about that Wired or wireless headset you like to use when playing online? It needs to connect some how and Im sure it will count as a controller as well. 2 people playing with headsets equals 4 devices. So 8 doesnt sound so bad after all. Its actually one more then Sony is going to support.

Interesting. Wasn't really thinking of it in those terms, but that makes a hell of a lot more sense. Allows the four players that can currently play on the same console to have more functionality per player. COULD make for a more engaging playing experience.

Then the title and the use of the word controller is misleading. Also the playstation eye is definitely not a controller and it is also not on bluetooth. I highly doubt the headset on the xbox one will be wireless or count as a seperate controller. The kinect also most definitely is not a controller either let alone 3. 8 is also not 1 more than sony will support as we don't know how many the PS4 will support.

A dvd remote is not a controller yet it is still read by the PS3 system as a controller. You may not think of something as a controller but that does not mean it is not registered as one. Go check how the Xbox360 handles devices and how the Ps3 handles devices. The Eye is uses a usb port and it is registered by the system as a controller. Its Total controllers. Regardless of how it is connected. The Kinnect most CERTAINLY IS a controller. I am not sure how you dont think it is. Do you in fact control something using the Kinnect? Do you make a things move around on the screen hands free or not? Do you make selections? If the answer is yes to even one of these then it is a controller.

Now we don't know all the info for either one of the new systems so we don't know if this is the case or not. Since it is being moved closer to a PC format then it will use the same kind of IRQs we use now. The device handling should be different and most of the devices above will no longer count against the max controller count. Lets say none count and only true "Gamepads" go against the max count. 8. 8 is a great number for Fifa soccer players. 8 is a good number for Nascar or other racing games. 8 is a awesome number for Madden or NCAA football players. 8 is an even better number for those with large TVs wanting to play say BF4 or a future FPS. What about MMOs? All the nerds under one roof playing together. What about games like Mario party? It has support for a lot of players.

Since it is APU based then by design it can have multiple video output support. An Fm2 board can support 3 outputs at once. So why couldn't the XboxOne? 2-3 TVs 8 controllers would equal an outstanding gaming session.

It is still over 2 months away from release and Im sure there are features we dont know about yet.

lastly. There was a Tweet by a top dog at Sony saying the PS4 will only support 4 maximum controllers. Well I guess its even worse then 1 more. The Xbox One will support 4 more then Sony.
