    Default Weird water problems (HELP)

    Evening all,

I have finished building my new water cooling system, in testing the system I filled it up with some temporary water (with no chemical or biological additives). Upon flushing the system I noticed the water was very cloudy and smelt like antiseptic.
I have since re-filled the system with some Alpha cool TEC protect liquid coolant. The coolant has changed colour and appears to be very frothy and thick (viscous). Upon further research I found traces of a metal compound in the water cooling system, but the main problem is the froth it seems to collect in every part of the system and build up creating air pockets.

Any one else had problems like this? I'm considering taking the whole lot to pieces and flushing out each piece.

    Ta.

that's odd. So the only thing thats been in there is water?

What parts make up your loop?

Yep, before adding the Alphacool Tec-Protect coolant, the only thing was basically pure-deionised water. I can’t find any information about this problem, the only thing I can surmise is there was “something” in one of the components, although I did check every thing first and I had to assemble the system twice due to it leaking the first time (so essentially this is its second incarnation).

    Here is the kit:

    Laing D5Vario
Black Ice Xtreme 120mm and 240mm rads
    1/2" Danger Den tygon tubing
    Swiftech Apogee GT Extreme
    Alphacool inline Thermosensor
    Alphacool Cool Plex 10 reservoir
    Alphacool Tec-Protect liquid coolant
    (all fittings and conections 1/2")

and you've made sure the system is fully bled? I can only think that the system may still have air in it and this might be causing the foaming as its pushed through the pump.

If it's not something along these lines then i can't imagine what it may be as all your hardware appears to be copper.

I have just shaken up the system and managed to squeeze some more air out the rads. So do you think the problems are just air in the loop?

well i can't really think of what else it could be unless there was some contaminant already in there, and that's doubtful if it's all brand new.

if you shake the bottle for the coolant, does it foam up just like your experiencing in the loop? Hope you sort it mate.

I have removed some more air in the system, but getting the last bit out is going to be a right pain.

Here is some eye-candy anyway, its no were near finished.

Thanks m8, but its no where near finished.

Will keep you posted on the progress in my main thread.

I’m still having some problems with the liquid in the cooling system. Will post some pics of the res and coolant later on.
