They're too similar to warrant any concerns.

The V-shaped heat-pipe array would be one difference between the V6 and Frio. Temps are pretty much identical.

I am most concerned at which would deliver lower load temps, thinking of replacing the fans with this ultra fast fans.

You'd be scraping the bottom of the pot.. but I give a little edge to the Frio.

Kevin, the Frio is not the bottom of the pot. It is a mid range cooler and performs very well.......and Biff, the Frio is way better than the V6. I have heard nothing but bad about the V6. Get the Thermaltake Frio Extreme. It is the newest edition and it is a bit better than the original Frio.

I have a TT Frio in fact both versions they worked great, but for your 3930K I would suggest either the Noctua D14 or one of Phanteks coolers. However if you can afford to buy the new TT Water 2.0 Extreme, that would be the way to go. 3960X at 4.5GHz 56c -60c underload.

Jim your the one that needs to take your meds, the Frio is not the best choice for a 3930K especially if he plans on overclocking. Your forgetting that I had two 3930K chips, one which you now have, I know how the FRIO worked on the chips, which is more than I can say for you lol Take your meds and come back tomorrow, when everythings warm and fuzzy

Why in the hell did you resurrect an almost two year old thread Jim? He's moved on to bigger, better cooling since then.

And we all know that at that time,......his system specs were nothing like what they are now either.

Why in the hell did you resurrect an almost two year old thread Jim? He's moved on to bigger, better cooling since then.

And we all know that at that time,......his system specs were nothing like what they are now either.
Neil, take YOUR meds. I did not resurrect it!

Explain those dates on post #5 and #6 to me.
#5 was almost two years ago. #6 was you, posting today.
