I have AS5, Noctua NT-H1 - the later being preferred by me, I seem to get better results with this paste than the AS5. I'll do some testing when it arrives and will try the stock first off

I wonder if the Rad on the H-100 could be installed in the top of the Corsair 650D Case?

It does - just! And depends on what motherboard you have.

I note in your sig that you are running the H100 with 4 fans in a push pull config. My H100 has arrived and I'm about to install and due to my case layout I am only able to install this unit at the rear of the case where my current exhaust fans are. I plan on utilizing these two existing fans to make up the four fan Push Pull.

I'm interested to know whether the preference would be to set up my Push/Pull as exhaust or intake.

    My current fan setup is
1 120mm intake at bottom front.
2 120mm intake side bottom (intake over GPU's)(2 spare available and able to be in exhaust or intake config)
    2 120mm exhaust rear
NHD14 2 fans in Push Paul Exhaust (to be removed)

Ambient temperature in the room is almost always 20C year round

    Your thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi Chris, I know you have had the h100's for a little while now and i know about the issues you had with both of them. But i was wondering how you set them up after reading this thread. I have always found that when using self contained systems that setting them up as intake yielded the best cooling, but one has to remember that you still need to be able to exhaust the heat in another way.

Currently i use the Coolit ECO with the 240 rad and use 4 fans in a push pull setup and i am quite pleased. I had to mod my CoolerMaster Storm Sniper case slightly so the 4 fan configuration would fit but it was actually very easy. And it all fits under the top plastic cover.

Hey Neil, I forgot you had one of these also. I remember you mentioning it over at HH. It is probably one of the largest mid Towers still available. I wish a few things about it had been alittle different in design but generally speaking it is a dynamite case.

Aside of the issues I have had with the H100 (which I am pleased to say has been identified and rectified by Corsair) I needed to set my case up as a positive pressure config as I live in a very dusty environment. To achieve this I am running the H100 as top intake p/p, however the trade off is a higher case temp. Overall I am very happy with the case and the config I have which keeps my cpu cool, the system warm and the case environment as dust free as it can be.

Ok.. so time to update this... I returned on second unit and went full water loop instead...
Now today my FIRST H100 Unit that I got from Newegg decided to fail today! Its doing the fan on and off bug... Trouble shooted everything that the website said and still same problem...
It was a good run!! Had it installed for 3 or 4 month before it went bad... Contacting Corsair to RMA the item today...

Sucks, I've had bad luck lately with stuff going bad... I just sent my XFX Gpu today for RMA...

What terrible luck you're having with these coolers.
I imagine that your PSU is working properly, so power to the units is not a problem.

This is certainly enough to make me shy away from buying one of them until they get a handle on the problem.

Default Re: Corsair Hydro H100 and H80 CPU Coolers

Power Supply is working fine.. I just tested the PSU think that might be the problem however it isn't. All my other devices are working properly. Waiting to hear back from Corsair as we speak to see what I need to do to RMA this thing. The pump works good when are you using the external fan control. However once fans are plugged into the unit the fans start acting up. In the meantime I pulled it out and installed my Corsair H60 so I can use the PC for now..

Does this H100 rely on the USB bus to control the fans? I know that the fans are supposed to plug into the pump housing, but is all of it using a USB connector? The AMD water cooler that I have does this. (but it works fine) I would find it hard to trust the normal fan connectors and would probably just hook them up to the PSU Power directly. They would be on at full speed all of the time, but who cares as long as they aren't too loud? I would trust this foremost at this point.

Man, the one I have is still running strong, I guess it's the luck of the draw, but every H100 should run the way they were made to run.

Yea, I am really starting to think that the H100 is really just luck of the draw.. I've had lot numbers for both diff then the original bad batch and both had the same problems. Its kind of odd.
But Corsair contacted me today and my RMA is being completed. I now have to send it in to them. The support rep I talked to on the phone said that they have been seeing this as a more common problem with these units due to the firmware corruption on the fan module for the H100. Most of them tend to happen right from the start. (which is what happen to the second unit I had), but in some cases they happen down the line.
