No air dump into the case. I figured out the temp difference. I left a crack in my window overnight and let the cold air in. The ambient room temp dropped and I lost the 10C temp difference. I remember my room was colder before the +10C spike. That explained why both the GPU and CPU temp changes are connected. All is in order...thanks for all your help.
