    Default Little D5 Problem

Hey guys how are you all doing?

Today I encountered a little problem with my D5 with EK Top.

I recently disassembled my loop for cleaning reasons, and when I hooked up my pump for the last flushing it happened.

Since I have misplaced my glasses latley <.<, I didnīt notice that I closed off the Inlet Port of the Top with the stopper.

Basically the pump ran for about 7-8 seconds with the Inlet closed off, before I noticed

I tested it therally, the only thing I notice is that it makes a louder noise when I shake it while operating, other than that it still is working silently and normally.

Should I consider certain things about the pump after this incident, or test it more?

I know that it doesnīt do anything to a pump when it swallows pure air shortly, but with the Inlet closed off, causing it to suck in vain, I am actually a bit worried.

You shouldn't have any problems.. When you shake it while operating you will here a noise since its Magnectically driven the propeller will move and hit the metal housing. I've done this before when moving it around during testing.. The d5 pumps can handle allot more abuse then that. I wouldn't worry to much..

It was basically not balanced since it didn't have any flow... these pump require water flow to operate properly.. but since you closed it off the pump wasn't balanced. but for 5-7 secs I wouldn't worry.. Just keep any eye on it for the next couple of days.. if you don't have any problems I wouldn't worry..
