Default How do I mount an H110 with a Maximus VI Formula?

The cooler fits fine around my cpu but the mounting screws arent long enough to stick out of the case and the backplate that came with the H110 cannot be mounted due to the layout of the Mobo. Should i just use metal screws on the back side to hook it in? Another method? Any help would be appreciated as this is my first water cooled rig.

    Edit: meant Mobo not case.

Are you sure you are using the correct screws? it comes with spring loaded screws for Intel setups and different screws for AMD setups.

I think you are using the wrong screw's. Check youre manual that came with the AIO.

you have a face plate and you have a back plate show me in a picture of both the back plate which
push's through from the back and the front face plate that mounts to it that the block and pump mounts to
    and lets go from there.

you need to use 4x screw inserts socket, insert it through the cooler's backplate, put these 4 screw sockets thru the mobo's mounting holes. Now you can mount and screw in the mounting screws to the socket.

I was doing it correctly it turns out, the maximus VI formula is just a derp. I had to really push hard to the point i thought the mobo would snap but it's in. Thanks to vinman for telling me to use the backplate first which made the process a whole lot easier.

Yeah, Pushing hard comes with the territory. Part of keeping the cpu cool is having good preasure on it as well. Glad you got it, though. I always get nevouse trying to tighten down the screws when installing heatsinks or aio's. (Except for my Noctua, that was by far the easiest installation I ever had.)
