Default Got a New CPU are my Temps ok?

Hey everyone! i picked up a new 4790k on Black friday to replace my FX8350.

Im New to Intel All together and my temps seem to be a little high on my CPU IMO ~27-30c idle, and ~60-62c Full load

    ambient temps are ~19c

i AM under a custom loop if some of you may remember
    -swiftech apogee XL cpu block
    -Laing D5 pump
    - Blackice stealth 420 rad
    -Bgears Bblaster 140mm fans Push/pull
-3/8id 5/8 OD tube (if it matters)
    - MX4 Thermal paste

on my old fx8350@4.8ghz i dont think i ever saw temps above 60c let alone even 50 under this identical set up. I want to start to OC this CPU but im afraid im already a little high on temps

EDIT** looked at my post about the 8350, it looks like my max temps i ever really say on that was ~ 32c under full load, almost half of what this 4790k is running

My 4790K is running at identical temperatures with a H100i.

    29C-34C idle 55C-65C under load.

*possibly unrelated* When I flashed my BIOS to the newer version my temps were better. preflash I was topping out at 80C

iv been reading up alot on how to overclock this chip and what intel likes, since like i said im new to intel, and alot of temps on seeing on the stock cooler are pretty much the temps im getting now, which is really disappointing me that my loop is essentially doing nothing if thats the case

Are those the stock settings temps or OC? If are OC temps, nothing to worry, looks pretty normal to me. Some temps measuring programs (Coretemp, realtemp), doesn't show real temps of AMD CPUs (referring of AMD 32C on full load).

Your worries are coming from your time looking at AMD CPU temps. When running Haswell temps you would normally be afraid of are actually pretty normal for an Intel chip. All those stories you heard about AMD being these fire breathing monsters that can heat your house are far from true. So ignore the temps you were used to seeing.

The temps you have now are not bad. You can get a few degrees cooler by 1. Blowing out Rad and fans, 2. Only applying a thin layer of TIM on CPU. Put too much and it acts as an isolator. 3. Turn fan speed up. 4. Adjust pump speed. 5. Double check all bios settings.

25c or so at idle is now. mid 50s at load is a good target.

Mid 50s is good, my 4770K, which runs warmer hits 60-65c, and even sometimes 70c when gaming under water with a OC to 4.4GHz @ 1.25v with 2 rads, a 360+240 in the loop with a D5 pump.

    I have my 4790K at 4.5/1.21V - I will usually sit mid 50s under OCCT/AIDA64 CPU + FPU/HD Transcodes with an 18 degree ambient. P95 puts me into the low 70s. But, I have a bit more rad - 360mm RX360 V3 + 280mm UT60, both in push/pull with Noctua PPC2000 @ ~1200 rpm.

What is your definition of "under load"?

And your temps likely dropped due to many BIOS making voltage adjustments for DC chips. A lot of boards were running them with far too much voltage.

My cooling system is only about 2 weeks old or so, some of you probably remember asking about it. I ended up just seeing how I could overclock this and surprising I got 4.7ghz on only 1.28v ! From what I read up this is very good? I ran prime for 3 hours last night while I could watch it and did run into problems and max temp I saw was 65 these CPU's are such a huge step over the 8350

Didint notice this before overclocking, but now that I'm pushing the chip I'm seeing some pretty good temp differences across cores, as much as 10c in some cases, this is probably a good indication of the block not sitting right? Or too much Tim?

My gut instinct on this is to check your layer of compound (thin to win). Cyberburnout is right, so are rad fans blowing out? I'm still rocking Ivy for my Intel and 1090T for my AMD so I can't speak much from experience on your two chips per se.
