Default Case size for Watercooling, and general Loop Advice

    Hello Everyone,

Long time lurker, and long time overclocker here. A bit of background, I've been tuning my PC for a while, but have always stuck to big air, or more recently an AIO loop.

I have the opportunity to pick up some quality parts from a custom loop my friend no longer uses at a significant discount. He's not local, so I cant really get a good feel for their size, nor do I have experience in the amount of room I need to leave for tubing and such things especially considering the size of the reservoir.

The loop will consist of the following hardware:

A ES D5X-Top Pump Top with D5 Vario Pump
    A EK-Coolstream PE360 Rad, with 6 x Corsair SP120s in push/pull
    A XSPC Photon 270 Reservoir
    A XSPC Raystorm Waterblock

Tubing and fittings I will purchase new to suit my loop.

The loop will cool a 6700K and a GTX 980 Poseidon.

I'm going to be buying an entirely new enclosure, I'm hoping to stick with a mid tower, as I wont be installing anything other than 3 SSDs and the video card in the mobo. I am worried that finding a case to put the reservoir will stick me in something larger than I really need. Can I mount the reservoir horizontally maybe? As the thread title suggests, I'm looking for general pointers, maybe a link to "Getting Started" with watercooling thread that you think is particularly helpful. Above all though, I'd like a plan to fit this hardware in the smallest case available. I am also not totally set on my choice of motherboard, if anyone thinks I should consider a certain option. Lay some wisdom on me, and any recommendations you would like!

The Photon 270 can be tricky, it has a really large circumference. I use the 170, myself, and it has always been the biggest obstacle during installations.

I agree with Vinnie on the Phanteks cases, but not the Pro. The Luxe would give you the ability to do push/pull up top if you like, and comes with the pump mount and other niceties that will help along the way. The Photon will fit in the rear reservoir location with the GTX 980, also.

Thank all of you for weighing in. I took a look at the Enthoo Luxe that was reccomended by Ciarlatano, and I think that's going to be the big winner. I'm going to remove the 5.25 enclosures, and try to top mount the 360 Rad. It looks like shoehorning everything in there is definitely viable! And, thank you guys for responding so quickly!
