    And I am impressed!!

My CPU is 10C colder, its quieter and the PC just feels better.

Is the Freezer Pro 7 not up to par for a Q9450 or was mine just a faulty one? I am see'ing temps in the upper 30s, completely unheard of with my old cooler

I've seen occasions where people have installed a AC Freezer Pro 7 backwards such that the fan blows to the front rather than the back. If this were the case it would explain it.

Wow that's really interesting. Have you another aftermarket heatsink laying around to try out?

Gareth, it's very possible you never had it installed right , or the thermal compound you used was not that great to start with. I always use Zalman STG1 , I found that it works better than AS5, and every other compound I have used. Cover your processor and heatsink with it, its very easy to apply, it has a smal;l brush thats attached to the cap. There's no way your stock intel cooler should be giving you better temps.
