Were you talking about MCP655 I presume?

    Oh....me me me......

just unscrew the SCREW RING and everything will come apart as in the picture, the motor is sealed and part fit in certain way. Just don't loose or damage the O-ring.

BTW, congrats on the new RIIE, I'm jealeous

Edit: don't be suprised to find out the temperature of core i7 920 will be high with your WC setup

Thanks Deton, that's it MCP655 i forgot what it was called when i was typing and u guessed it right or perhaps u read my mind

Oh on the i7 i only bought it becos someone purchased my Maximus Rig.
Today whilst i was at the local store, the guy told me that Core i5 will be out this month End Jan'09 and Phenom II will arrive next week.

With these 2 launch i'm sure the value of my Maximus will fall even further so i might as well just sell it off first

I did a comparison item to item on this i7 purchase and my Maximus formula purchase the prices were close enough except for the Rampage II:
    1. Q6600 vs i7 920 (i7 920 about $30+ difference)
    2. 4x1gb Crucial Ballistix vs 3x2gb Team Extreme ($10-$20) difference

    C'mon join the i7 bandwagon

    Bully

What did you pay for the Rampage 2 ? when I first bought mine it was $389, I have now seen them as high as $420. There's a lot of overclocking features , but I still think they should have included the OC Palm instead of the same one that came with the X48 Rampage and Striker 2 Extreme.

Deton, buy a core i7 I told you I would help you out with a good deal on a X58 mobo , just make sure you keep one of your test systems, or you could sell both, and build two core i7 systems

But on the other hand my rig is capable of doing everything i need to do with acceptablee pace soo i dont think I'll be jumping on that wagon soon.... First I'll exploit what i have and then I'll move on!

    Hi Geralt

Like Bully mentioned, prices will be falling, so you would be better off selling your current setup while you can still get a decent price for it. $269 for a core i7 920 is not bad at all.

Yeah maybe but how much could i take for my mobo, CPU and ram . 300 euro??? i guess not more (especially that i dont have any packaging for it coz i had a leak in the shed and they all have been flooded and disposed). And for i 7 i would have to spend around 600 euro if not more..... and unfortunatelly i dont have spare 300 lying around

edit: Bully how much did you take for your parts??

    Hey guys
sorry i could have responded earlier, my system (i7) is not up yet so i'm using my office laptop.
Okay here's the break down of what i paid in USD

    1. i7-920 & Rampage II Extreme (bundle) = $749
    2. Team Xtreem 3x 2Gb 1600mhz = $266

Sold all my stuff as a bundle:
    Max Formula + Q6600 + 4gb Crucial= USD$350
I think its a little low...but selling it anymore, i wont be able to attract many buyers at all.

    Total= USD$1015 or $732 Euros

The i7 and Rampage came as a bundle and that was the best price i could obtain, and that's no where near what Dr D is offering. Dr D is really offering a good deal here

I am currently waiting on my GTZ Retention Bracket for i7 to arrive so that i can put them together. Meanwhile since everything has been taken apart i am taking the time to clean up my watercooling loop and dismantling the Pump to do some cleaning

Not sure why the Rampage II didnt come with the Palm OC...the Extra premium of the Rampage 2 over the P6T Deluxe (at my local store) is quite huge not sure why ASUS couldn't "throw in" the Palm OC. But i've heard reports that the Palm OC is very slow and quite cumbersome to OC ? not sure no personnal experience

@Dr D, how was your overclocking Adventure with the i7 so far? Are you getting >4ghz with your TEC cooling?

Perhaps u can post some preliminary overclocking tips on how easy it was to get to 4ghz ?
