    Default Boreas Software

Anyone else here had any problems getting the firmware to update? My first Boreas was a pita to get up and running, but this second one just refuses to do anything. I have done everything imaginable to no avail. I even swapped controllers with no success. I did notice this latest Boreas came with a different pump and it has a 4 pin connector, but all the controllers only have a 3 pin connector built in to them for the pump...whats up with that? These are the best temps this unit will achieve so far...

Completely bypassing the controller only lowers temps slightly...

Hi Rick, you have to go to CoolIts site and download the Vista 64bit fix to get it to work.

Have a link to that? I see no patch on their site. Thanks

Edit: There appears to be only two files to download there...v1.55 of the software and v2.04 for firmware.

Did a search and came up with nothing. Seems unsatisfactory to have to go on a treasure hunt to get one of these units up and running, don't you think? I have wasted an entire weekend on this build for nothing. If it takes certain steps to get the thing to work with certain OS's one would think it would be plainly stated on the site. Coolit's website is the poorest I have seen in some time...that should have been my first tip-off. Btw, the first unit was run with XP 32 and it was still a pita to get going. They have changed the pump design on the latest units and the pump connectors are a 4 pin, however all the contollers are still 3 pin...nothing mentioned about that either.

I am now doing a fresh install of XP 32 and will let you know the results soon. If something won't run on XP 32 there is definately a problem there...

Two downloads, correct? That is all that they offer and I am using both...1.55 software and 2.04 firmware.

I used to have the link to the fix if I have the time I'll see if I can fine it. I know when I was on the CoolIt site 20mins ago they had pages talking about this in the forums.

Using XP 32 it is still a failure. Seems no matter what OS I use it fails to update. This has got to be just trash software as far as I can tell...

My apologies to everyone for flying off the handle but smart aleks I don't need atm. I have another Boreas sitting here that does work, tho it was a pita to get going as well. This latest unit has been no joy. As for you smduff, you can go troll another thread where your humor might me tolerated.

Thanks for the effort but that is nothing more than a tutorial on the waterblock retention devices. I am well aware of Coolit's site and it's contents. I already have all they have to offer in the way of downloads.

    hey bud...
i know it can be frustrating. just keep faith that it DOES work and that you have try different things. have patience. ok heres a good suggestion for you and it probably will work. you never know give'er a shot.
change the side that youre plugged in to the MTEC. if youre in the A... go to B.
maybe youve already tried this but i thought id suggest it. i know it has been a problem for me and that was the answer. getting right software and firmare has never made any difference. this did it or else i had the usb plugged in wrong or the ground wire up side down.
k good luck dooood. let me know how it went. and coolit is right down the street from me and im good friends with them so i can phone them up and ask if youre still having problems.
