I got it stable running at 3.7Ghz with Prime95 (for an hour or so) with TEMPS ~73C (AsusProbe II)

Tried various Ghz from stable at 3.6 up to 3.7 - anything above that fails with Prime95 (BSOD)

    I) Settings that ran stable with the 6GB 1600 RAM Kit in red
II) Settings that ran stable with the 3GB 1375 RAM Kit in white

For gaming purposes I will let it sit at this for now - unless I run into an experienced OCer, who will come over & play witrh this.

Very happy with all on this site that once again lent me a hand

Doug; your problem is you have Speed stepping and Turbo enables, when you have Bclk of 200 and Turbo on then when Turbo kick in the CPU will jump to 4.2Ghz. It's not 4Ghz any more therefore the current Vcore is not enough. You need close to 1.45v or higher for the C0 chip to stable at that Mhz.

It's better to disable the Turbo if you want that high of overclock.

Ok, if you want the overclock to stay at 4Ghz then disable the Turbo so the multipler won't jump from 20x to 21x.

If you enable the Speed Stepping then the CPU will throttle down when there is no load. This is a power saving feature. This feature won't interfere the Vcore like the Turbo does.

FYI; I can get my C0 stable at 1.38v - 1.40v. So your current 1.425v is kinda high and try to drop the CPU PLL down to 1.88 - 1.90v if you can

Tried MANY variables - all failed for 4.0 Ghz

3.7 is all that can be squeezed out of this with running Prime95 stable for ~1/2 hour &
    low CPU temps
Nice to see RAM load is 1/2 of what it was before (40% vs ~80 %)
Installed the HyperX fan kit also

TX again for all your help !

    I) 1st Settings that ran stable with the 6GB 1600 RAM Kit in prev post in red
II) Settings that ran 4.0Ghz stable with the 3GB 1375 RAM Kit in prev post
III) 3.7 Ghz stable with 6GB 1600 RAM Kit in green - with acceptable CPU temps

I wonder if the following changes affected my ability to run the 6Gb at 4.0

    1) updated bios with all chipset, bios, sata & LAN updates.
    2) the 1600 6GB kit runs CL9 (3GB 1375 RAM ran at 4.0Ghzbut had CL7)
    3) OC is harder with 6GB RAM instead of 3GB
    4) other???
    Regards, Doug
