the H80 Fans are plugged into the heatsink (header i think its called) of the unit then that is connected to the cpu via a little cable and then to a molex for power

I have the CoolerMaster Scout case, where would be the best position to place the radiator, on the top of the case in the roof 120mm roof vent or on the back panel, any ideas on that?

I thought you were already running the H80, questioning high load temps

If you can would run it in the back of the case on top exhausting out the rear.
Some say intake but don't like hot air exhausting in the case.
    Here's my H50 days.

Wouldn,t push it any further until cooling change.

i do have it installed and as per corsair, its sucking air INTO the case, i have a gtx580 sitting bout 6 inches below it on the x16 number 2 slot,

two fans in front of case blowing ait in , psu fan sucking air from under case and out the back and then the twin fans on gfx card sucking air out and the coolermaster top fan explelling air out top

I have concerns from the heat generated from the GFX card, asus gtx580 - it makes more heat than my last card so sucking the air as exhaust thru the cpu cooler would that make a hell of a difference to temps?

Do you think they are high temps?

Ill have a go at changing the fans to exhaust, to see what difference it makes, but can not do that for a few hours as have a gathering to go to very soon (family)

Your back fans blowing in are fighting the front fans blowing in, StalemateJust joking around!
Also help with case air flow exhausting.

You also know just that one 580 in second slot running at 8x, not 16x.
Although not a big hit unless high OC and running multi hi rez monitors.

for a 24/7 gaming machine, is it better to have HT OFF, and get a higher Mhz on the cpu with lower temps?
as far as im awear theres no games out yet that are using HT technologies, BF3 is my main game
I dont do any word processing other than outlook 2010, no video making. And the gfx card will be doing most of the rendering for games i would be imagining

You should take a look at the 4Ghz club, it has a lot of information you need.

    1) if you don't want to manually type out the BIOS then use a digital camera but if you type out the settings it will help you to help you quicker.
You will see what I'm talking about when I have a chance to look at your BIOS post.

2, 2a)V8 might be able to handle 3.8Ghz but I don't think it can handle at 4Ghz?
To get your RAM to run at 1600Mhz, you need to run your Bclk at 200Mhz, because the RAM multi tied with Blck. Ram Mhz increase or decrease accordingly to the Bclk speed.

    3) don't be, you're in the right place.
Screen shots of bios can be easily made on Asus boards by using a USB flash drive and hitting F10. It saves the screen shot and can be uploaded to Photobucket. The image can be easily posted on the forum.

Default Re: List of BIOS Info and Settings readout help

I always run HT but alot of cooling.

If remember right knocked about 2-5c off my load temps so good idea.
And unless into Heavy Cad,Spreadsheet, Photo, ect. not needed.
    Gotta fight for every C.

    Later.

    Thank you,

Had heard of that but never tried it.
Didn't think would work without loaded OS.

    Getting back to cooling,

Something I have been doing in alot of builds is using small streamers taped to different
areas in the case to look at air flow movement once all set up.

Need a side window but surprized me, and use it as a tool. YMMV
Kinda crazy, but worked for me, especially when ramping fans up as to cooling and acceptable fan noise levels.
    Always take things to extreme

I use that lite packing twine And (Racers Tape) but could use anything light.
