Default I need some advice please

Ok, I have been reading some of the posts here and you guys really know your stuff. I have a Duo Core 2 E6400(yeah, I know it is pretty old now). I have never O/C'ed a processor before. If I buy myself an after market fan, can I just push up my CPU speed in my BIOS?.

Hope you guys can help me out. I would be very greatful for any help you can offer me.

    :-)

if you're still using stock cooler then you must upgrade to a better aftermarket cooler not just only the fan.

    First off, welcome to PureOC!
Secondly, yes, you would definitely need a new heatsink-fan if you are using the factory Intel cooler. The old Conroe's were pretty easy to OC, but you need to increase the voltage and therefore pull more heat away from the chip with better cooling. You can probably get close to a 1Ghz OC by increasing the FSB.

Need to know more about your case to see what dimensions we have to work with.
Also a budget for us to cleave to.

If you don't have a model number for the case, maybe shoot a pic for us?

THIS COOLER has a lot of good features. It utilizes vapor chamber technology and will fit into many cases.
    It's price is decent too.
