    Oh well okay lol.

Your defaults with FSB348 and (Vcore/N 1.62/1.49, 1.68/1.45, 1.68/1.43; not working. FSB338, 1.56/1.45 not working but 1.62/1.47 is woking fine at a high CPU temp (68C). FSB353 1.37/1.49, 1.50/2.49, 1.56/1.49, 1.62/1.49, 1.62/1.45, 1.62/1.43, 1.62/1.47 all failed. I am getting blue screens on windows longon in most of them. FSB378 1.62/1.49; the computer dont boot and dont "beep" either, the screen shows TestDram. And i am now going back to FSB333, enough testings for today. What do you think about my results bwoy?

Your C2D might hit the limit but you can try 550x8, if you were thinking to get 5Ghz then you're better getting Phase change cooling first before you can go any further.
BTW, what is the temp at this setting?

1.62v Vcore and it didn't even load? hummm.........I'm scraching my head here. It could be heat or ram here, or you might have the same issue as Bullydog, check page 2, post #31
68c is way to hot. Are you using stock HFS? if you do, then you might consider upgrading.

I tried 3dmark 06, but I think it's a bit of nonsense for a dual core since it takes the 4 cores too much in consideration which I think it shouldnt, 'cause the games generally don't get any use of them all..

    here is 3dmark 2006 at 4600 mhz :

    btw,
deton : the temp is about 90 degress above 4800 mhz.
so it's just for superpi, nothing else. this cpu gets real hot and not usable with air cooling above 4600 mhz.

    here is 3dmark 2006 at 4600 mhz :

it's still prety good, 13915 for 8800gt. I guess a high OCed CPU does help.

My 8800GTS only get 10k ish for 3dmark06 with Vista but 19k ish for 3dmark05 with XP. You should post your score in the 3DMARK05 report so you will get ranked.

Deton : it says 90 degrees but I think there should be something wrong with the temp windows shows. I touch the bottom part of the heatsink and it's like 50-60 degrees. I'm hearing the same rumors from other people using e8400, too.

So maybe cooking is not a very good idea for the while. :-)

Jameson : vcore is 1.6 for 4800 mhz (which is just experimental), 1.47 v for 4500 mhz, 1.5v for 4600 mhz.

that's a beauty about 45nm/1333fsb chip, can overclock further and beat the crap out of 65nm chip.

Are you using the latest Bios (0907v)? This bios correct the probe reading.

yes I'm using the latest bios.
My only problem with this board is that with the same cpu,
    even the P5B Deluxe makes 600 fsb (like 7x600 = 4.2ghz), however,
the maximus can't reach even 560. I Saw someone done 570 fsb, but, the settings can be a little bit confusing, so maybe I could not do it.
    Any help will be welcome.

yes, I've seen it too but you have to drop down the multiplier to get higher FSB.
I haven't personaly experience yet due to my ram has maxed out its limit.
If you have a better cooling I think you can pull it off with your hardware.

the problem is, even I take down the multiplier, still can't reach high FSBs..
