    Default Yo

    Hi all,

Newb here. Thought I'd say hi and keep you updated on my new 3970X purchase.

I've been running a 3930K at 4.6 (offset 0.055v) for about a year now. Came into a bit of dosh and have splurged on a 3970X, which arrives tomorrow. I'm going to just drop it in and see how far I can push it. Aiming for 5.0, whihc should be enough for me, as I only use my rig for playing MS Flight Simulator X, which is actually harder on the rig than _any_ game I have ever thrown at it. It eats CPUs for breakfast.

    Watch this space!

    heh,

    Thanks, guys

@realneil will do. Is there a link detailing the "correct" way of posting benchmarks?

I'm not a great fan of benchmarking, simply because I'm interested in one thing only: how quickly will this mofo run FSX

But happy to oblige..I have CPU-Z and Prime95 but I hear P95 isn't always the best way to benchmark.

Also, here's a question: I've knocked my rig back down to 4.5 (-offset 0.050) for the time being, since my last re-install (three days ago - stripped-down W7 Pro x64 as per this post - Nick recommends dropping the O/C back to stock when setting up a new system; as I know it runs like it was made to at 4.5 I'm back there for a while) What temps should I be seeing under load with this configuration and an H100?
As a baseline level, at 4.5 I am seeing 60-61 under P95 stress testing.

I'm also wondering what temps I should be seeing when cranking the 3970?

    Thanks again!
