Red face Q6600 Asus P5N32-E SLI Overclocking....

    Greetings everyone,

I finally saved up enough to get myself a decent computer instead of building ones from pieces and parts of miscellaneous machines I'd acquired over the years, and am now interested in pursuing some overclocking tips. I've tried the built in over clocking on the motherboard, and can run it at +15% quite reliably. I know I should be able to get more out of my system (see specs at side), any recommendations on where to even start? I've read hundreds of sites about it (lots of free time at work as a programmer and all), but none are specifically for my cpu/motherboard combo.

I'm not really looking for exact settings as that is half the fun, more looking for a general overview based on my current setup.

    Any recommendations?

I've been hearing some not so nice things about the compatibility of the P5N32 E-SLI mobo and the Q6600.

You can use the Q6600 no problem, I'm able to get a stable clock of 2.8 but anything higher my system won't post.

I've played with my memory timings to allow more headway, set them to 5-5-5-15 instead of 4-4-4-15, tweaked the voltage of the NB and SB and CPU. Anything over a FSB of 1280 will hang my system.

Its a great board to OC the E6600. I had it running from 2.4 stock to 3.0 with a FSB of 1333 and memory at 800 with no issues at all. But the Quad is a different beast all together.
