    Default i7 3820 going for 4.8ghz 24/7

Oke guys sorry that I,m back again, but for the fun of tweaking, and letting the cpu run for his money as high as It will safe I,m going for a 24/7 4.8ghz.
so I set the bclk to 120 and the mp to 40, the vcore was set to 1.4v in the bios, and the mem is at 1600mhz.
I did a test run of 50 minutes prime95 at small fft

and is 1.4v safe for 24/7 use?

Safe is about temperatures more than voltage. I believe Intel rates their CPUs to handle up to 90c, but conventional wisdom is to not push too high above 70. If you aren't running that 100% load 24/7, those settings should be just fine. Do a 3 hour test to make sure you are stable. I've had prime fail after an hour and a half consistently because I wasn't quite there.

Oke yes In the mean time I did a 4 hour test, prime95 at small fft an
    It passed.
I now temp is more importment then vcore but just checking it.
I,m not using any programs that use 100% load that much, just rendering and gaming.
Gaming the temps go to 68 degrees highest core temp, ambient is then about 24 degrees.

As I already said, stay below 75C on load per core and you're OK.

    Always look beyond the limits...
