I dont think that can be real. There was the same issue with MF that MB temp suddenly jumped up to 200 deg ( out of nowhere) so it might be either sensor itself( rather unlikely) or the software ( either everest/probe or maybe BIOS)....

Like Geralt mentioned, it must be faulty sensor or software bug because I haven't see it happens with my MIIF yet but I did see it with Max Formula board though.

Hmm. I will describe whole situation from the beginning. I received board fired it up and in BIOS and Probe temps were around 60 with my 8800gt with S1 with 12cm fan on it blowing all over the place. Then I put in 260 gtx stock cooling which has risen temps of MB to 70. So it looks like sensor must be under sink which extends from SB because 12cm fan from 8800 did 10C of difference in compare to closed out of case exhaust system of stock 260.

Then I reseated cooling and added washers under NB. Temp risen to 90 - 94 in BIOS and I did not want to boot to Vista.

I reseated again cooling adding washers under each screw - same story 94c in bios - so it looks like sensor is not stuck? or maybe is? I am not exactly sure how stuck sensors are acting but name would suggest that they are stuck and not moving too much? or maybe the name is misleading?.

I ordered new Board as I can still send back first one.

In other forum I was advised to use hair blower for locating MB sensor - then I thought that it is irrelevant as I was sure it is stuck or the temps will lower once I reseat cooling.

Now I would not risk heating it up even a few degrees....

So the question is would you still say it is stuck? What are your opinions guys?

    Sebna,
a quick question, you only added washers under the NB screws?

I would add on washer for each screw for entire heatpipe, if you only add on to certain spot then it will cause uneven pressure when tighten the screw and it will bend or twist the heatpipe. And one more thing when you remove the heatpipe make sure there is a thermal pad under SB sink (left side of SB chipset).

With first attempt I placed two 2mm silicon washers under NB - this was the time when MB hit 90C for the first time. Then I added for all rest screws steel 1mm washers. So there was always some disproportion we could say.

Guys what temps are you getting from Power sensor when stress testing?

I am getting around 52 with 5 passes of IBT and 50 with P95 all off case ... so kind of high

    GhostRider,
54% overclock is pretty damn good but I not quite understand your report because it shows FSB of 389 x 6 muli = 2.3ghz thought, unless you enable cpu power saving mode. So what is your FSB & multiplier ?

3.6ghz - 3.8ghz is durable for Q6600 on water but if you are on air cooling is more about at 3.4ghz.

because you have CPU C1E Support enable, this is power saving mode, if there is no demanding for the CPU it will throtle down its speed.

Like I said since you're on air cooling maybe you can try to push it to 3.4ghz but don't let the load core temp reach over 65c.

Are you still using stock HFS or aftermarket one?
