What was the temps at stock (before) modding?

First, put the heatpipe on the table top, face down as like you install it on the mobo, check for the flatness, make sure the SB/NB & MOFFET copper bases touches the table surface. If it's not then just straighten the pipe, use your thumb to push it downward on the pipe.

hi..im new here..and i hope u can help me .. i have intel Q9550S and maximus 2 forumla and Corsair Xms2 DHX DDR2 800, 4 x 2 Gb (8Gb) memory...and how can i clock this to go the best optimize on my mbo? Hope u understand wat i meen? I like to clock this to have best performance, but dont know how.. best voltage and others for memory and cpu?

UPDATE

I MX2'd the CPU, NB and SB, and added #1 washer to each of the screws holding the heatsink/heatpipe-

Image #1 is after modding - ambient temp is approx. 70F - overclocked to 3.0GHz

Image #2 is before modding - ambient temp unknown (summer 2010) - oc'd to 3.0GHz

im new here..
can i ask you guys for help..?

ive had this rig (check my PC specs) for about 2 years now.
its been running on stock eversince..
problem started when i cleaned my rig about a week ago, i dusted it using a blower..
when i was done cleaning i placed it back on its spot, on top of a 2ft wooden table..
i started it and everything was OK, until i decided to move the table while the thing was turned on..
after that, my system froze, mouse, KB was not responding..
i did a restart and it brought me to windows without any problems..
after about 5mins of listening to MP3s and surfing, my rig froze again..
everytime i opened my PC this always happens..

i tried restoring everything to default, same thing happens
i did a clean install of windows 7 ultimate, no changes
i tried using 1 stick of memory/interchanging slots, same thing happens

im running out of options..
im starting to think my board suffered problems when i tried moving the rig while it was ON..
i hope you guys can help me..

I have been trying to change the core clock multiplier on my Q9550 and it refuses to change. I have ratio set at 8.5 but in CPU configuration section it also says its set at 8.5 BUT that the actual value is 6. This is also the value reported by CPU-Z and Crystal CPUID. FSB=333.9 System bus =1335.8

Both C!E and Speed Step are disabled. Ran Super Pi 2M=1m50sec, no change in clocks in CPU-Z

If your system is on a old-fashioned mechanical drive, run a error checking utility. Odds are good when you move a running system you can cause the read/write head to come into physical contact with one or more of the platers, damaging them, and the data on them. You always want to shut down a desktop system before moving it, so those heads are parked, and the platters are stopped.

yes, im running on mechanical drives, a 500gb and a 320gb 7200rpm seagate, i tested them both on my other rig and both were OK.
one thing i noticed was that the NB temp was almost always beyond 55C, reading on this common problem on another thread, i tried removing the felt pads on the NB heatsink, cleaned both the NB and the heatsink and applied new thermal paste and a Nidec 120mm triblade to add ventilation. the problem went away but went back after a few months.. this time more frequently.. the board had random freezes even when my system wasnt loaded.. before the board went dead, it took with it my trusty 9800gt and 8800gts, much to my dismay.. both of the said cards were A-OK until i plugged them in the pcie slot of my MFII.. now both have garbled display..
i recently acquired another MFII board (lucky me) and got an HD5850 and plugged everything i had from my previous build and viola, everything turned out OK..
i guess my old MFII was the culprit, good thing i found a replacement, wasnt ready to say goodbye to my trusty 775 set up yet..

You said can't boot into Windows. Was that at default setting in the bios or you're already mess around with the overclocking? If you don't describe what you did then we can't tell you what you did wrong or even better show us some screenshot of the bios.

it's your RAM, keep it at stock speed until you have your overclocked CPU stable first then you can OC the RAM later. You're currently have it runs at 925mhz, that's way faster than stock. When the RAM runs this fast you need to increase its voltage and losing its timing.
