Thanks Deton, but you think if I flash a new bios there are no problems with the raid setup? and with the data in the hdd's?

No problem, all you have to do is get into the bios at boot and reset the HDD setting back to RAID mode and you are back in business. By default bios will set HDD at IDE, therefore your MOBO won't recognize the HDD setted as RAID.

BTW, you can't flash back the bios in DOS, you have to use Asus UpDate Utility for Windows to flash the bios from there. If you do it in EZ bios flash it won't let you do it.

    Good Luck

edit: Famcra, what is your overclocking settings now?
I'm trying to collect a overclocked template for Q6600 so I can add it to the template table. As you can see all I have is 45nm processors, I want to add 65nm processor to it.

Would you be interested to share your settings after you get everything stable?

Ok I'll try tonigth flash the bios.

This specs works fine but not tested on Prime with the raid and 1802 bios, with the 1307 bios and no Raid is rock stable (24h Prime) and CPU temps under 60 with 2h small ftp Prime, and ambient temp +/- 24.
    My volts:

    CPU Voltage : 1.35
    CPU PLL Voltage : 1.553
    FSB Termination Voltage : 1.1265
    DRAM Voltage : 2.10475
    North Bridge Voltage : 1.1265
    South Bridge 1.5 Voltage : 1.52
    South Bridge 1.1 Voltage : 1.12

    CPU GTL Reference (0) : +10mV
    CPU GTL Reference (1) : +40mV
    CPU GTL Reference (2) : +10mV
    CPU GTL Reference (3) : +40mV
    NB GTL Reference : AUTO
DDR2 ChA Reference Voltage : AUTO
DDR2 ChB Reference Voltage : AUTO
North Bridge DDR Reference : 12.5 mV

To achieve 444 fsb I put 1,44V in cpu and a notch ( + ) in each other reference,( not the GTL's) very scientific....,and very hot for stability tests, but is not Prime stable... yet!, but enough to make 18600 in 3dmark06.

I keep you inform about the results, and I send in a everest sheet.

FSB- 400 to 411 works perfect ( 3,6 to 3,7ghz) I do the tests with both FSB
Multiplier 9x, and about everything in auto, well I disable the Spectrum and the other stuff, and enable loadline calibration, but in Ram I leave in auto the performance ( it shows 10 in gray), it works better with the reapper at 4.4.4.13

About my problems, I flash again the 1802 bios ( asus update don't allow downgrade ), and the problem remains, so I use Bios 2 ( with the original 802 ) and the first thing the Vista do is ask for a reset because he install the cpu, and then the problem remains.
So right now I believe thats a problem with Marvell or Matrix, what do you think? How can I clean the drivers for Raid, reinstal and not loose data in the hdd, sorry about all this questions but is my first time with raid.

    Thanks in advance.

Have you try AsusUpdate by flashing the bios from file? Not from internet. I had have done it before.
You know you have to use the program for the Windows, right? The one from bios (Dos) won't let you downgraded.

If you want to remove RAID driver, you have to reformat the hard drive (unfortunately).

So here is an update on my temperature issue. I ordered a Scythe Kama Bay and put another Scythe Slipstream fan in it (110 CFM & 37 dBA) After installing it the facing the same way as my last one... I realized that these fans weren't blowing in, but blowing out >.<

So... I flipped them around and now I have a ton of air blowing in! And amazing temperatures to boot!

It's the asus update from file in Vista who gives the information that I can't downgrade.

But thinking in what could I make wrong installing the raid the only thing I remenber is when I instal the makedisk from the Maximus CD, it give me 2 choices, install 64 bit or 32 bit, and I assume it means Vista 32 or 64, could it be processor ( cpu) with 32 or 64 bit? even now my english have doubts when i read again the instructions, do you remenber the instructions?
Sorry for this long issue but reformat again the drives is last case cenario, I must explore all the alternatives,

    Thanks again,

No it meant what version of the driver you want to install that is suite with Windows version (32 or 64bit).

That's weird about AsusUpdate downgrading, I have no problem doing it.
Have you select the option and tick the downgrade box before you flash to the older bios?

You right, I don't see the options, but the problem remains, that's not a bios problem, all the bios show the same problem, and the only diference it's the driver from Marvell I load with the fresh install of Vista, the strange thing is that remains in any bios I flash, and in my point of vue the OS register in a very deep level, so the only solution is reinstall vista or try to change the common files in system34 from Vista.
    I keep you updated.

Default Instructin How To Flash Bios to Older Version

Only AsusUpdate Windows version allow you to downgrade the bios. The EZ flash Bios utility (Dos version) won't let you do it.

    1) Open the AsusUpdate program and click on the pull down menu to Option selection

    2) Select this choice "Option" then click "Next", it will takes you the next screen, check box the "Bios Downgrade" option

    3) Now click "Next", it will take you back to pull down menu screen and select "Update Bios from file", click next

    4) Windows file browser will pop up, locate the downloaded bios file and select it, click "Next" and follow on screen instruction then you are done.

hello all i am the proud owner of the asus maximus II formula had it for 3 weeks nows its a great board imo. i did a budget build running a pentium d 3.4 800 fsb( i know the processor is lame ) gonna replace it with a quad as soon as i can.

i been watching temperatures and voltages ever since i googled and found this thread thanks all for the information.

i am posting cause i am concerned tonite my cpu pll voltage seem to go crazy on me it will start out at the 1.5 v then after awhile i will go into asus probe and the alarm starts sound and its up to 2.74. everything in the bios is set to auto- i reboot and it resets to normal and at the moment is steady at 1.66v(checking it thru everest) below are the temps and voltages at the moment:

    Motherboard 35 C (95 F)
    CPU 32 C (90 F)
    North Bridge 40 C (104 F)
    South Bridge 45 C (113 F)
    PWM 37 C (99 F)
    Seagate ST3750330AS 29 C (84 F)
    Cooling Fans: CPU 1918 RPM
    Chassis #1 2809 RPM Fan #3 2974 RPM

    CPU Core 1.23 V
    +3.3 V
    3.38 V
    +5 V
    5.09 V
    +12 V
    11.87 V +5 V
    Standby 5.21 V
    CPU VTT 1.20 V
    CPU PLL 1.67 V
    North Bridge +1.1 V 1.12 V
    South Bridge +1.1 V 1.12 V
    South Bridge +1.5 V 1.50 V
    DIMM 1.87 V
    DIMM VTT 0.93 V

    bios version 1802

    so my questions are:

    is this normal?
is it anything to be majorly concerned about?

i bought the motherboard from newegg and i have a week left to rma if it is serious

It is normal and not thing to alarm about. Because you left the settings on Auto therefore the board will over voltage.

Take those normal voltages reported by Everest and manualy input them in the bios then you will be fine.
