Could you also show both load and idle screenshots?
Hi Mr Coretemp,
Here's a screen shot of coretemp on load, noticed how coretemp only reports CPU 27% load, while Task manager and win7 side bar shows 100% load. At the same time 58c-56c-54c-52c is definitely not the "Live" temp.
On idle no issue at all, it picks up the CPU usage correctly, problem arises when it comes on load
Thanks in advance for your help on this.

Re: "Core Temp" - A program for accurate Core, Core 2 and K8 CPU temperature monitori
I've noticed this behavior as well when dealing with LinX.
Go to processes tab in task manager and up Core Temp's priority to Normal.
I've recently upgraded my system, and decided to OC a little, as it's almost effortless with the sandy bridge processors and noticed the same problem with either the GUI in Core Temp not updating at all or the wattage readings go into the thousands. It seems the LinX/Linpack loads the CPU so much that without properly setting the priority of other processes, the lower priority ones get close to 0 cpu time, so they don't function properly.
Core Temp defaults to Below-normal to reduce CPU consumption further, but it seems that with some workloads it creates this kind of problem.

Thanks for the reply, do you think the new RC version will fix this? else its a bit tricky for me to load my system on LinX without knowing what my temps are.

I'll try to fix this in the next release.
But as a quick fix, just change the priority of Core Temp in task manager and leave Core Temp running in the background.

Re: "Core Temp" - A program for accurate Core, Core 2 and K8 CPU temperature monitori
Hey guys. I know I haven't updated RC3 in a very long time, and since we got Ivy Bridge, BD and now Trinity, and soon we'll have PD CPUs that the current version doesn't properly support.
Well at last I've had the chance to finish up RC4. It adds support for all of the CPUs I just mentioned and fixes some minor bugs and problems we still had with RC3.
It's now available in both the installer version, and as always a standalone version is there too, so if you're still with me feel free to check it out.

My A/V is thowing out PUP virus on this version.

Re: "Core Temp" - A program for accurate Core, Core 2 and K8 CPU temperature monitori
PUP = Potentially Unwanted Program.
What A/V is that? This basically means that the installer makes an offer of installing optional programs with Core Temp. If you don't want to you can click Decline on the offers or use the standalone version.

Its Eset Smart Security V5 and Malwarebytes also picks it up. Thanks for the explanation.

Re: "Core Temp" - A program for accurate Core, Core 2 and K8 CPU temperature monitori
Basically it's the decision of the AV makers whether to flag a certain program, or a specific installer or a website domain, or just clear it. As you can see some decided to flag the installer and some not. But PUP flags simply tells you what I explained earlier.
