it would seem so. thanks for a great guide. enything other than the vcore i should adjust down? the qpi/dram core voltage should keep equal?

i took some pics just now. i took down the vcore and the qpi/dram, kept them equal the entire time, ran prime for about ten minutes, temps around 69c-72c. gonna go longer this time.

high voltage generate heat, heat degrades electronic components. Yes, Vcore and QPI/DRAM voltages are the same or within few milivolts, keep this in mind, the memory controller is integrated into the CPU's die therefore if you have high QPI voltage will contribute in high heat. What you just did is the right thing

Ok, keep the CPU PLL voltage below 1.90v or at least 1.90v for 24/7. This voltage too high can cause harm to your chip too. Everything else look good!

If you pass 8hrs of Prime95 then you can call it stables.

72 is safe to let it runs without your attending. Do 8hrs prime while you sleep

don't forget to save the OC settings under user profile, just in case the system crash and reset the bios by itself then you will loose all the settings.

Also helps when you take your rig out to the shed to clean it and accidentally hit the clear cmos button LOL..

My Cpi PLL V is at 1.812, thats factory and im stable at 4009mhz 24/7, with HT off...Youll find my screenies on here somewhere if you wanna compare anything else but it looks pretty good to me too. The guys here at PureOC have some top tips for beginners!

no doubt about that. i thank you all for all the help i've gotten, made my first OC really easy.

so, now i've just ended an 8 hour run with prime95, top temps 72, 71, 67, 67. i feel i wanna go for 4.2, but i'll enjoy this a bit first.

nice temp! i see the ram running underclock. why dont you try 200 bclock x 20 multi so you can run your ram at its rated speed.

hehe, i noticed that, deton. i reached 78c-79c in less than ten minutes, and a ton of restarts and a couple of bsod's. i think i'll put 4.2 on hold, until i get more time in the evenings. as it is now i get to try three-four times, then its work, or familystuff, but soon i'll get the time. anyway, i'm gonna enjoy the crap out of my 4ghz in the mean time.
