    I was told that they would try vary hard to answer every question... You do realize Liteon and Plextor are the same company right just different divisions = PLDS Phillips Liteon digital solutions PLDS

    No, I didn't realize that. But the Plextors don't have the same problem that all four of my LiteOn drives did. Hopefully it will not start with them either. It didn't have to do with reading or writing DATA, it was the mechanical aspects of the drive loading trays. Four of them failed to open anymore within a month of each other, and they wouldn't replace them. I swore off of LiteOn from then on.

    These Plextor drives work well, look great, and the loading trays are not the same as the four LiteOn drives that I tossed in the trash.

    the old company Plextor made the best and probably the most expensive DVD drives I still have a few laying around
