    Default Storport.sys error - Samsung 860 EVO

For this past Christmas my daughter got me a 1TB Samsung 860 EVO. I put it in on 1/26. I used Samsung's migration software and all seemed to go fine. I tried to run a few benchmarks using Samsung Magician, Crystal Disk, Passmark and ATTO Disk. With all of them, when it got to multiple read/write it would blue screen with the message - "error storport.sys IRQL-NOT-LESS-OR-EQUAL-DRIVER-". I looked this up and all said it's a driver issue. I checked my drivers in Device Manager and all indicate being current. Just in case, I downloaded the current BIOS for my board and AMD Chipset drivers. I'm holding off on those though for confirmation that that's what I need to do. I seem to recall hearing when it comes to 1 or the other, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". Also, I'm looking to get a new copy of win 10, in case I have to do a fresh install. There seems to be plenty of places to get OS keys at discounted prices, but from what I've read, It's a major case of "buyer beware", so more informed recommendations are welcome. Not sure if this helps, but I checked in Administrative Tools/Event Logs, and I may have carried over a lot of "issues" from my other drive when I did the migration. I looked past the date of migration, 1/26, and a lot of warnings and errors, a little over 5k dating back to 05/15/18. After writing this, maybe I should just go straight to a fresh install. The funny thing in all this, even though it has locked up on it's own a couple times, for the most part it runs fine.

Figured I better update this. I updated the chipset drivers and did the October update for win 10, the chipset update seemed to help, a little, but the OS update helped more. Finally was able to run a couple of benches, have some screenshots but can't seem to copy them over. It's been a while, so forgot how, "image insert" wasn't cooperating. Anyway, tried a benchmark called Anvil Storage Utilities and there is a remark in the setup window that states, "Alignment 579596KB Not OK". The test still ran, though I would like to know what that is and what it means. The other benches are Crystal Mark and ATTO.

Thanks, did that before the OS update. I kind of expected I would have to do that anyway, but figured it was worth a try. I'll let it go for now and save up for a new key.
