Default Software to transfer HD to HD?

I'm going to be getting a new 400 GB hard drive and want to transfer some of my stuff from one HD to another but be selective about it. Is there any software out there that will let me do this? I want to keep my movies, music, etc. on the slower 200 GB (was master drive but will become slave) that I have and transfer my OS, my games, etc to my faster 400 GB in as painless a way as possible. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

there is software for this, i used some not long ago and it worked flawlessly. Try Symantec NortonGhost, this should do the trick

Yeh ive heard some great things about Ghost.

You could also maybe plug in your new drive as slave, then use some backup software to copy the OS to the new drive. Then just switch the drives over.

Acronis True-image works a lot better than Norton Ghost. It is really good.

    Norton is eeeeeeeeeeebil!

your asking for something that will sort through your file's and separate the music from the movies etc etc...this you'll need to do yourself, and if you haven't been doing it all along I'd hate to imagine the dis-array of your drive....

are you a mac user? ;D
