Default Best Hard Disk Cloning Software?

What is the best preferable free..

I want to clone my Volciraptor(I will be using it in my new build) to another spare HDD I have lying around.. just in-case If I run into any problems I can quickly jump online and find help. I think its a good idea to have another PC up and running while I start to build my PC this week.

It was easy to use but didn't boot for me... I had to do a fresh install

I wasn't ready for that lol So I went ahead and strip everything out this computer that i'm going to use in the new build. DVD drives, HDD etc.

I replace the 4870 with my trusty 7600GT. The 4870 is about to go on Ebay.

4870 512mb's are going for around $70 bucks on Ebay.. kinda sucks

The back of my mind keeps telling me to keep it, buy another and cross fire it. God knows I'll be saving a lot cash.. over $100

But the 512mb of ram bothers me..

Oh. Well the extra 512 could help, that's true. But also keep in mind the additional cost. Is it worth that much difference? Hard to say, it's whatever works for you really.

I will need to do this soon too. How does Acronis True Image work? can I just plug in the brand new hard drive and have True Image do it for me with a few clicks? maybe its more complicated than that, I dont know much about this.

Yes true image will clone the drive with just a few clicks. The software has to be installed on your computer first then you can do backups or cloning. Once you have cloned the drive in order to use it you would have to select it as the boot device in your bios so the computer knows to start the new drive and not the old drive...
