I think Jake is right, this should go through core members only, we know and trust each other, so that would be the best way.

I can't remember how James setup Core Members rating so the members can become one. When it first started, the current core members was invited.

Since then there are few members have been regular active more than one of Core Members and they are not event quality for Core Members yet. I don't think there is an automatic rating system for this, to become a core member only by invitation.

So, Skyguy you have to look into it.

Default Rules of trade section rev 2

Wow thanks for responses guys!. So now i've done revision 2 of the rules and added couple of my own ideas to it. what do you think of it now??:

    1. Administrators and moderators are not responsible for any damage caused by equipment, software bought through trade section of this forum. Above mentioned are not responsible for any fraud actions issued through trade section of this forum

    2. Only members which will be granted "core member" status will be able to view and add content of trade section

    3. Granting the "core member" status will be undertaken by administrators of this forum.

    4. Each item for sale should have detailed description which should include: how old it is, how often was it used, there should be at least 2 pictures of the item with proof that seller has taken those photos( ie. forum name written on a paper beside the item)

    5. Sellers who's description of the item does not match the actual state may be facing temporary or permament ban

6.Trade section should be divided into three sections:

for sale - well thats obvoius

requestes - for persons which are looking for particular item can post thier request in there.

issues - for any troubles durring buying/selling items

    7. If any issues would occur during selling/ buying an item(s) (ie. item does not match the description or expectations) this should be discussed in "Issues" section of the forum. This allows other members to view and give thier opinions about liability of the transaction made

    8. If any of the above rules will be broken by a participant of trade section, consequences will be undertaken of temporary or permament ban from the forum.

As far as posting the photos of the items for sale, the seller should have his name on a piece pf paper on top of [ video cards, motherboards, HDDs, cases & power supplys, water cooling kits ] or next to the item [ memory, processors ] This way you know it's their photo.

As long as every one goes by the rules I am fine with it, but this is also up to Jake to agree if he wants to move forward with this. If the Trade or Sell section stayed within the core members section, I do not have a problem with this. Jake and I are NOT responsible if anything happens.

Use your head, know the person your dealing with, all core members know each other,so we should not have any problems. One point I think should be made, is that if someone would like to invite members into the core section, then all core members would have to agree on accepting this person, our reviewers should be allowed in, as long as they have been reviewing for at least two months.

Jake, what do you think ? seeing as a lot of people seem to want this, and we have a new set of rules, this might work, but I have to add that the core section is here for a reason, so we do not want a lot of people. Maybe all core members should vote on this first, and then take it from there.

Another way might be a trade and sell section run by the core members, this way the core members section stays the way it was intended to be, but I am not sure how this would work, you guys would have to go by the same rules, but you would be able to invite more people this way, as long as every member agrees to let the person in.

Maybe set aside one night a week where you could look over the persons profile, and posts, but I have to add that they would have to have a way to verify their address, even a simple letter sent and returned would do that. One thing is that they have to have a phone number, and it would be up to the core member that wants to add a person to this group, to call and verify that this is that persons phone number.

I do not think that sending a letter and asking for it to be returned, and making a phone call is asking for much. We have to protect our members, and this is one way to try to do that. Lets face it, if some one wants to rip you off, they will find a way, this is just a way to cut back on some of that.

ok , added a poll. I made poll public to monitor that only eligble members are voting.

edit: Wow those precautions are kind of over the top. I think with people who are core members we all can trust them a bit. Or maybe I'm too young and faithful....

P.S. I'm not core member yet ( ironic isnt it?)

Here is the xs system/rules there you need 100 posts to advertise it seems

    http://www.xtremesystems.org/Forums/...ad.php?t=98059

That seems to work for me in that there would be a larger number of people able to buy

Is the 100 posts rule easy to set up?

I'm not sure it could be linked that way (but I'm not positive), but the easy way would just to state the minimum post rule and if someone posts with less then their post is deleted. Pretty simple, just gotta keep an eye on it.

We would still need a way to check on their address and phone numbers, which is why I said sending a letter and asking them to return it, then have them give you their phone number, and some one calls to verify that it's their phone number. This would help people from getting ripped off, retuning a letter would take a week or two, a phone call right away. Doing the post part is also good, 80 -100 posts would be ok.

maybe we could ask the people who are interested in trading/selling should all mail/fax their applications to someones house,(a person who would be in charge of the trade section) and from there we can verify that the member is who they say by calling the number they provide, and maybe add a security question on the application that they have to answer.

I'm not sure we want to administrate that sort of thing. Would probably be better for the 2 parties involved to contact each other to verify. If there's a problem we can be notified and we can delete/ban the offender, but I doubt we want to go down the road where we're playing cop to private trades/deals. Very slippery slope there.

The original core members was invited, there is no automatic setup script for it, I think?
PureOC can make anouncement to accept more core members and we (admin) we'll review over each applicants.

The only down fall of this, the seller won't have much sucess of selling or trading their part due to the lack of core member.

Of course you are on your own risk to do business in this trading forum. PUREOC has no liability in any transaction taken places.
As I mentioned above, I don't think PUREOC responsible for anything, we the staff can monitor the posts but that it is.

The below is the best way to do the transaction, no personal cheque, credit union...etc. Only paypal account, if there is any thing gone wrong then both parties have to deal with each other and paypal.

I would like the core members to get together and talk about this, then pick one or two members to meet me and Jake on windows live messenger and see what we can come up with, but this would have to be on a weekend, because of Jake's job, and he needs to be able to spend time with his family. I think we can cover a lot in an hour to and hour and a half.

Once you guys have decided who will talk to us, PM me and we will set up a time, some of you have my comcast address, so you could also email me email after you decide who will talk to us about this. We have done three way chats with reviewers , but we never tried a four way, I guess we will have to look into this and see if it's possible. Let me know what you guys decide.

    Thanks
